Chapter 6

Flashback- 9/6/15

Shawn's POV

This is happening. It can't happen. I won't let it. I call Savannah, to let her know of the news.

Shawn Savannah

"Hello?"

"Hey babe, it's me. I have some news..."

"Okay, what's the news?"

"I'm going on a world tour, and you can't come with me."

"Oh..."

I hear her crying on the other end.

"I never meant for this to happen. I didn't know that-"

She cries more...

"I love you so much Vannah. I know that you didn't mean for this to happen. I didn't ask to be born with this gift, just know that I won't ever leave you..."

Present Day- 12/20/17

Shawn's POV

I'm coming home from my Illuminate Tour and I need to tell Savannah something. Something that I didn't mean to happen. No, not my career or anything like that. Just heart changing.

I knock on Savannah's door and she opens it. A fake smile spreads across my face and she beams.

"Shawn!" She says as she jumps into my arms.

"Hey Vannah," I whisper.

"Are you alright? You don't seem like yourself," she questions as she pulls away.

"Have a seat," I instruct.

She tilts her head, but does as told. I sit beside her and I take a deep breath.

This isn't going to be easy...

"Savannah, over tour I have had a long time to think," I start and she nods, "a lot of time to think over this relationship and what my heart thinks."

"You're scaring me Shawn, get to the point," Savannah says, a frown on her face.

Tears make their way to my eyes and my voice starts to break.

"I usually write my songs for you. But one time I didn't. It made me think about where my heart is and I know you've been here for me since highschool, but I- I... don't love you anymore," I cry.

Savannah's POV

My heart shatters. He doesn't love me anymore.

"Who do you love then?" I ask, choking back tears.

"I love Cat. She's been there for me since kindergarten and I wrote 'There's Nothing Holdin Me Back' about her. I'm so sorry Savannah, but I can't change what I feel," Shawn informs.

"I don't blame you. She's a lucky girl and has the same interests as you. I hope you have a happy life with her because I know she feels the same way," I say.

"How do you know?" Shawn asks.

"She told me. Go to her, she's probably waiting for you to visit her," my voice breaks.

"I'm so sorry Savannah. I really am..." Shawn apologizes.

"Don't be, have a good life Shawn," I say as I retreat to my room and sob into my pillow.

Shawn's POV

I knew this wasn't going to be easy, but I needed to let her go.

I get into my car and drive to Cat's house, hoping she's up. After all it still is 11:30 in the morning in Toronto.
