Ten WRITING and story THINGY
Thingy 01:
Critics and bad reviews aren't the writer's enemies. The number one enemy is always the writer's self.
Thingy 02:
Every writer put a piece of themselves in their written work.
Thingy 03:
"What if no one reads my work?" is everyone's horror, but real writers are more scared of not sharing a piece of their mind to the world. If you can't pass this doubt, anuna?
Thingy 04:
Being a writer is like playing god. You give the characters the story of life, watch them move and do things the way they do.
You may or may not have the right to interfere. You may or may not only watch and write.
Thingy 05:
Don't trash idea if not suited for current work. You can use it in your next story. A trash of one is a diamond to the other. (parang ex mong napunta sa kaibigan mo, ganern.)
Thingy 06:
No story is perfect. Let go if you must. Move on with the next improved yet unperfect story.
Thingy 07:
There will always be a time that the story will be the cause of headaches. No worries. Every story will be. And it will be worth it.
Thingy 08:
A story is not a bunch of random and cool epic events stringed together. It is about someone (protagonist), who wants something (goal), sets out on a journey to attain it (plot), and grows or learns something along the way (change) by the help of obstacles (conflict) and how he fights to overcome them.
Thingy 09:
Every story is no easy writing, whether it's your first or your hundredth.
Thingy 10:
There's no rule. If you write with enough assurance and confidence, you're doing the writing thingy right.
