Chapter 3

1 Month Later (they already had the sacrifice)

"You stay safe Ragnar. Don't get yourself hurt. I love you. Please be safe. If this is the last time we see each other then I want you to know you are a father figure to me. I love you more than you could ever imagine." I said.

"I will be okay. And I love you too. And my grandchild will be the best known." He smiled putting his hand on my baby bump.

I then turned around to see the one and only Ivar the Boneless.

I neeled down.

"Ivar, you stay safe and come back safe."

"I will. Keep that child safe." He said.

I grabbed his hand and placed it on my stomach.

"This child will always stay safe as long as I am here." I said.

He smiled and pulled his hand away. I stood up. And said goodbye. I knew this wasn't the last time I would see Ivar but I wasn't so sure about Ragnar.

I walked toward Lagertha and Björn after everyone left.

"I'm going to kill Aslaug." Lagertha said to me.

"What?" I asked.

"I am going to kill Aslaug." She repeated.

"That's okay." I said.

"When she kills Aslaug I will be going to the Mediterranean." Björn said.

I froze. Björn was going to leave me.

"I am leaving tomorrow." He said.

"Ok. Okay. I'm okay and that's okay." I said.

He got up and came toward me.

I quickly wrapped my arms around his neck and he wrapped his around my waist.

"You two can go and stay the rest of the day together." Lagertha said.

With her words we did. Björn and I trained for a little and watched others train.

It was getting dark after a while and we decided to go to bed.

As soon as we hit the bed we were asleep.

The Next Morning

Björn and I woke up to hear commotion and talking outside of Kattegat.

We got up and got outside. Björn and I walked to the middle of the market and then to the Great Hall to see Lagertha.

"Mother." Björn said to Lagertha.

"Björn, Thana." She said back.

"Where's Aslaug?" I questioned.

"In her room." Lagertha responded.

"Oh. That's odd." I said.

"You could go check on her." Lagertha said.

"Okay." I said and walked into Aslaug's room.

"Are you okay?" I asked when I saw her laying down in her bed.

"Come sit down and I will explain." She said.

I nodded and sat down beside her.

"I know I am going to die when Björn leaves. The seer has already told me my fate. I had a dream that Ragnar and Ivar drowned. I am sure they are dead. And as for me dying, don't worry. You stay with Lagertha, my child, she will keep you safe. I knew this day would come." She said tearing up.
