They say it's forbidden
They say it shouldn't be done
That we were too young
Too innocent in the long run
But naive as we were
We fell and we fell hard
Until we thought that not even the world could pull us apart
But I stand among the ashes
That float up to the sky
Our forever has been burned down
Nothing left but that last goodbye
I think a tear rolled down my face
I must've wiped it while I walked away
I had to hold myself together
For it was an important day
I smear my face with the grease
I am unrecognisable
All over again our kind has set up for the feast
A cruel fate we're inclined to
Yet another clash will go down in history
More rivers will tinge with red
This is what we've all been afraid of
And mothers will have no children to tell stories to put them to bed
It's a war we've been fighting
But I was fighting for you
But you're long gone
And I stand here with the rest, soon to join you

A/N: A personal take on the dread I feel about all the clashes between humans over the past years, and some ongoing. This was just about an innocent tale which are probably innumerable between all the shots and the cries.
