A Sour Promise

All your sweet words you would say to me. The promise of love that will never be. The sweets words turned sour as we say goodbye. Those sweets whisper I use to hear, now turned into lies and fear. I was a fool to believe in you and me. To think I would actually be happy but instead I watch you flee. You tempted me with sweet words, like moth to a flame. And so I came. I came and got burned. But now I know, I have learned.
