Living in the Wastelands was not what Xander expected.
As soon as he heard the news that almost broke him apart, he starts to regret ever leaving his old home in the Estate in the first place.
Xander is given a new job in the Wastelands, one that helps him come to know the place better, with all that's hiding in the cracks, including some of the people.
The fall of the Wasters shocked Xander back to reality, where he comes to realize that he's not really safe where he and the others found sanctuary inside a place full of survivors, because the place he thought was safe took the few people he truly cares about away from him in one way or another.
So he's determined to bring that person back, no matter what.
But when he goes back out into the desert, he uncovers some secrets and learns the truth about the people he calls his friends, and even the ones he calls his enemies.
