dedicated to sophia
I walk into the living room
I see a subtle light shining from afar
It's a fireplace, I see
The epitome of our undefined love
The fire which represents the passion
The wild lion with exceeding range as it chases it's prey
You were the lion as I was the deer
You were the giver that keeps this going
The gasoline that stained her hands
The firewood that slowly diminishes with the contact of heat
The warmth that gives me hope in the cold winter nights
And the charcoal in which ashes begin to rise as it burns
You powered this love once more
Gave it energy as I was just reaping from what you offer
I was the deer in headlights
The criminal of the plan
The ignorance that filled his empty head
The fire that just dies out when you have nothing to give
But then water splashed on our unwelcoming shore
Disturbed our silent neighborhood
You let them come in
But I had no power so I just gave in
For I am just a doe-eyed creature
Roaming the forest in utter silence
