Chapter 24

Previously:

"Hello," Charlie answered so quickly I had almost thought he was out of breath. My mom said something I couldn't hear.

"Yeah we will be home in a minute," Charlie said quickly getting out of his chair.

"What did she say?" Alice asked.

"Get your asses down here now!"

Alice drove very slowly as we approached my house for what might be the last time.

"Maybe Dylan just was caught J-walking or something?" Charlie said but it sounded more like a question.

"Yeah, and maybe they didn't link you to Tyler and they aren't here to throw you in jail," I said frustrated as I tried to work it out in my head. Why now?

"If they are dragging me anywhere I plan on taking you with me missy," Charlie said from the back seat.

"And if you are going somewhere I probably won't be far behind," Alive said as we slowly crawled into the driveway and then undid our seatbelt.

"How do you plan on getting into jail with us, we are sort of an exclusive bunch," Charlie said raising an eyebrow at Alice.

"I will introduce the officers to my right hook," Alice said smiling proud of herself.

"Oh great so now we are all going to jail," I muttered as we got to the front door.

"Who wants to open the door?" I asked as we all looked between each other.

"I guess I will," Charlie said his hand slowly rising to the handle. All three of us screamed as the door flew open.

"What took you so long?" my mom asked us as she drags us all into the house and leads us to the kitchen. The two officers were seated in chairs. Everyone else awkwardly stood against the wall, everyone including a confident Lucas. What was he doing here?

"Are we all here now?" the officer asked sounding board.

"Yes," my mother said impatiently waiting to see which of her kids was being arrested.

"You are all being placed in the witness protection program," the officer announced. Everyone's eyes grew except Lucas'.

"What is my new name going to be? Can it be Judi with an i? Or-" Tara was talking very fast.

"Further information is currently be sent to your parents and you will be leaving tomorrow afternoon," the officer.

"Why?" my Dad asked confused as we all kind of just stood there.

"Because Tyler has sent out multiple threats concerning all of you, and he is known to follow through so to be safe we will be placing you in witness protection until he is no longer a threat," the officer said glancing around the room trying to avoid my angry mothers glare.

"When will he no longer be a threat?" my mom asked trying to obtain eyecontact.

"That is not known ma'm, sorry," the other officer said this time. That was not the answer my mom wanted and now he was going to get to taste her rage.

"Look my family and I are moving anyway, so I don't see what the big deal is," my mom said trying her best to be sweet.

"You may not ma'm but it's our job to see what you people can't, so it has to be done this way," the officer said poking at and already raging lion. imagine Derek Hale being told he had to move his pack to a new territory. Yes my mom was the alpha and although she had uprooted our lives before that was on her own terms. In her eyes this was just preposterous.
