What has become of this world
Insanity is the latest trend
The futures of young boys and girls
Have tragically come to an end
Where's the tolerance and compassion
This world is deficient of
Where is the logic and ration
Most of all, where is the love
My skin crawls in terror
When the avoidable occurs
This crooked system should be fairer
And protect young boys and girls
War is idolized and adored
While the innocent falls prey
Peace and harmony is ignored
Until it's much too late
Now I'll take a moment of silence
For the children who had to die
As a consequence of gun violence
At the hands of another child
