The Wapato Academy of Exceptional Learners was founded in 1945 to provide the wealthy elite a place to educate their children. WAEL (abbreviated, pronounced ‘whale’) enrolls 300 students annually, grades 8-12 and strives to prepare their students for Ivy League placement in the college world. Graduates include the famous scientist Rugart Prufonce and world-renowned chef Narah Tridential.
Matthew looked at the brochure intensely. “Wow, I can’t believe I was able to get in. This place is great!”
“Just remember, things will be different here. This is a school for learning. I expect you to work hard and practice your violin daily.”
“Yes mom, but I also want to make friends, hang out, maybe join a club or two. There are tons of benefits to being here and I want to make the best of them.”
