Chapter 21

"Asuka" I heard Tobirama's voice but anything else he said was drowned out as I was surrounded by black.

Tobirama's Pov:

I quickly moved in front of Asuka and caught her around the stomach

"What's that.." I heard Natuski ask quietly as she walked up and I looked where she was pointing and saw distinct rips in the back of his long black night shirt that was now drenched in blood.. I looked and felt sick seeing my initials carved deeply into her back. I carefully wrapped my arms around her and picked her up, her head lolling onto my shoulder.

"I have to get her to the hospital.. One of you come along with me and my children.. The rest of you clean this up" I ordered and they nodded, one of the Anbu with a cat mask walking forward along with me.

"Is mommy going to be okay?" Kaito asked worriedly and I frowned looking down at her

"She should be.. She is a strong woman" I said and he nodded taking hold of one side of my pants gripping the fabric tightly in his small fist while the other hand holding tightly onto Natsuki's. We made our way back to the village but I could feel a light tension in the air but I was surprised when I realized it was with my children.

"Is something wrong you two?" I asked looking down at them and I saw Natsuki immediately look at her feet as she walked

"Mommy always talks about how hard you work and how great you are.. But you never talk that way about her.. Do you love mommy too?" She asked quietly still looking at her feet and I froze mid step making everyone else stop as well

"Your mom means more to me than I can ever express through words" I said looking down into Natsuki's big black eyes that were exactly the same shape and color as Asuka's.

"promise?" Kaito asked and I saw the hand that was grasping Natsuki's tighten slightly

"Promise" I said firmly, starting to walk again but I felt the ache in my chest.. Not from any wound.. Every physical injury on my body was healed thanks to Asuka.. But from the fact my children had to actually ask me that and the sudden realization hit me that Asuka may even feel that way too..

Soon enough we were at the hospital and I was thankful for that Anbu kid because there was already a room set up with the best medical ninjas on staff waiting to heal Asuka. I placed her down on the bed then took a seat on the chair to the side. Almost immediately Natsuki crawled up into my lap and rested her head on my chest while Kaito got up in the chair next to me and moved my arm so that he could hold it and rest his head on my shoulder. I ran my fingers through Natsuki's hair while I watched them heal Asuka

"She needs healing on her back too" I said as they seemed to be wrapping up the healing over her heart. They flipped her over and cut through her shirt

"Will you be able to get rid of the scar fully?" I asked quietly and I saw one of the nurses shift her weight to her other foot

"Maybe if she had been healed sooner.." She said quietly and I nodded even though they weren't looking at me. Once they were done healing her back they wrapped her entire torso in thick bandages they went to leave the room

"Can you make sure nobody disturbs us.. Unless someone says the village is directly in danger" I said and the nurse looked at me slightly shocked but nodded and bowed before going out of the room closing the door behind her. I looked down at my kids and saw them both fast asleep.. I let my head fall back against the wall silently and sorted through everything that had happened today..I didn't realize anything had fallen from my eyes or that I was shaking slightly until I felt small arms wrap around my neck
