Elizabeth sat in the car, bouncing her legs up and down, her papers and folders clutched in her hand.
"Jesus Christ Elizabeth calm down, Ahk isn't going anywhere" Nick groaned looking back at her, the constant subtle bouncing in the car made him nauseous.
"Oh be quiet Nick, you know I can't help it" Elizabeth sighed, trying to place her feet firmly on the ground. It was true that she couldn't help it, whenever she was nervous or excited she got unbelievably jittery and shakey, it was like an itch that she was incapable of scratching.
Elizabeth looked down at the papers, she had separated notes into different sections that she wanted to write about, his family, home, day to day stuff etc. She smiled to herself, she knew that the project wasn't due for two months and she would have it done early, this possibly equalling extra credit. Elizabeth was passionate about her work and Nick's whining couldn't dim it down.
"You guys probably won't see much of me tonight, I have stuff to catch up on that I didn't do last night, okay?" Larry spoke whilst pulling into the parking lot. Elizabeth quickly said yes and practically fell out of the car before it had stopped.
"Damn I didn't think she would be this excited" Nick told his father, watching her step up the stairs.
"Well you should have Nicky" Elizabeth smirked, this made Nicks face fall again.
"Nobody but you can call me that Elizabeth, Be careful not to say it around anybody" he pouted.
"What about when I call you Nicky?" Larry asked glancing at his son while he unlocked the door.
"It's more annoying when you say it dad" Nick replied, Larry accepted the answer and let them in. Elizabeth walked through the empty office and into the main hall.
"What time do they wake up again?" Elizabeth asked while her eyes wondered once more.
"It depends on when the sun goes down but they should wake up in about 10 minutes" Nick answered. Elizabeth put her work down and sat next to Teddy and put in her earbuds, then rested her head on her hand.
A few minutes later Elizabeth felt something shuffle behind her and looked back to see Teddy's horse begin to move its legs. She looked up at him and saw his wax face soften and develop more colour, his skin was no longer smooth but was detailed with wrinkles and sun spots from age, human. While Elizabeth knew everyone was going to come alive, it was still startling but amazing.
Teddy cracked his neck and looked down at Elizabeth,
"Why hello again miss Elizabeth!" Teddy smiled,
"I was afraid that you had gone back into shock and we had scared you off for good" he exclaimed, climbing off his horse.
"It will now take quite a lot to get rid of me" Elizabeth grinned as she stroked the horses nose.
"What's this guys name again Teddy?" She questioned.
"Ah this is Texas, you can take him for a ride whenever you please!"
"Really! That sounds fun, I'll have to take you up on that soon" Elizabeth admired the horse as Teddy walked off to see Sacagawea most likely, their love was the cutest.
"Hey guys I have to go deal with everything, feel free to do whatever as long as it's not trouble" Larry announced, finishing his sentence with his eyes on Nick who had his hands up in a defensive position.
"We will be good uncle Larry" Elizabeth reassured him while giggling, of course watching Nicks torment was her favourite pastime. Larry walked up the stairs and around the corner, Elizabeth turned her attention back to Texas who was now trotting around and chewing on the seemingly plastic straw and hay.
"She's down there" she heard her uncles voice echo throughout the halls, a smile crept onto her face. Looking up the main staircase she saw Ahkmenrah emerge and scan the room, grinning when his eyes landed on her.
Elizabeth walked up to him with a slight skip in her step as he met her halfway, Nick sat on the desk silently snickering while watching his cousin, the pastime went both ways.
"Good evening Elizabeth" Ahkmenrah spoke whilst bringing her hand to his lips and kissing it, once again he was quite a gentleman. Elizabeth felt silly over how the smallest interaction made her blush, for she had only spent one day or really one night with him and well...he was dead.
"Hi Ahkmenrah, I've got my papers over where Nicky is" Elizabeth pointed to Nick who was now laying on the desk with his eyes closed, bored already. Ahk nodded and they walked over to him.
"HEY!" Elizabeth yelled, clapping her hands loudly next to Nicks head making him jump and almost fall down.
"Jesus christ Elizabeth you're so annoying" he groaned while she laughed.
"That is no way to speak to a lady Nick" Ahk spoke from beside her, a slightly confused look on his face as he had never seen the two teenagers squabble together, even though it was regular.
"Pff she's hardly a lady" Nick grumbled before closing his eyes again, making Elizabeth flick him in the head.
" I need my work Nicky, your ass is on it" she smirked. He loudly groaned again and got up so she could take her work. Before she reached for them, Ahkmenrah grabbed them for her, before holding out his arm for Elizabeth to hold. She smiled and linked her arm with his, quickly glaring at Nick before they walked away.
"I must say I am quite excited that you want to learn about my life" Ahkmenrah looked at her.
"Lots of people learn about you! You are a very popular subject to most students" she laughed.
"Am I really? Why am I popular in this time" he questioned, being trapped for over 4000 years with no time to roam at night had left him literally and figuratively in the dark, he had only been released from his sarcophagus 8 years before.
"Well history books speak of you as a great and powerful leader, who brought not only strength but peace to Egypt, until your reign and life was tragically cut short" Elizabeth could go on and on about Egypt.
"Except for that, not much is known about you as your brother is said to have tried to erase you from history, old libraries would have to be searched for years to write about you" she continued as he watched her, he admired how passionately she talked....and it didn't have anything to do with the fact that she was talking about him.
"And it's one of the reasons that your exhibit here is so beautiful, you are so respected, there are many reliefs and statuarys of you but you are mysterious. Finding your mummy and tomb in the early 1900s was very exciting for archeologists" she stopped for a moment
"I'm sorry, I'm rambling" Elizabeth apologized, scratching the back of her neck slightly.
"Not that I mind, Elizabeth. It's interesting to hear from a person that isn't Nick or Larry, I've read the boards in my exhibit but I didn't know that I stood out" Ahkmenrah assured her.
"You stand out because of the stories of how kind you were, and believe it or not there were many stories of you being quite handsome, a strong and beautiful king." She spoke, doing her best to not let her face flush, barely noticing that he was doing the same.
"That is most flattering" He smiled, his eyes meeting hers, before they both averted them.
Elizabeth hadn't even noticed that they were already sitting on the steps next to his sarcophagus, she really got into her head when she spoke about history. The walls in his exhibit were very large and looked like they were real stone, they were extremely detailed and based off the real walls of his tomb that resided in the Valley of The Kings in Egypt. There was a moment of silence between them, not exactly awkward, she felt quite comfortable around him. He glanced over at her and handed her all of her work.
"Where would you like to start?"

Well holy shit I'm alive, I had three chapters ready but now I can't find them do I'm busy fighting with wattpad lmao. Also I know that Ahkmenrah was not a real historical figure, I've done so many essays on Egypt I'm basically talking out of my ass when I write this 😂 I love it
