Chapter 6: The Beginning of a New Adventure

I had arrived back on Dramillion island after the Viggo fiasco. It feels weird that he's gone. But I, glad that, in the end, he decided to do what was right. Now back on this Island, I get to witness one of the most amazing things to see! Dragon eggs hatching. I eagerly moved towards the colourful stripy eggs and in my excitement did not realise the Dramillions, including Kyanite, move backwards away from the eggs. Because this was my first experience around Dragon eggs, I had no idea that they exploded. So, gullible as I was, I leaned even further forward when I saw a crack appear on the yellow egg. Kyanite gargled a warning at me. I turned my head towards him and was about to ask what was wrong, when all of a sudden, a loud bang erupted and I was flung back. "Wow!" Was all I managed to get out as I sailed through the air. Thankfully, I landed right into Kyanite (well, more accurately he caught me) so I didn't get hurt much. I blinked in surprise and looked around at the others. They seemed to sigh and shake their heads. I laughed loudly, seeing the humour in what just happened. And, pretty soon, all the Dramillions laughed along with me. Even Kyanite got a little mischievous when he playfully smacked me in the head with his tail. "Hey!" I exclaimed after he removed his tail from my face. "I'll get you for that Kyanite!" I then proceeded to chase him around the nursery. The baby Dramillions saw us and decided it looked like fun, so they joined in. Pretty soon, it went from me chasing Kyanite, to Kyanite and the babies chasing me. After a while of running around, I gave up exhausted. Allowing the babies to catching up and dog-pile me. I collapsed the the ground in a heap of baby Dramillions who then decided to lick me all over. I laughed uncontrollably. "Hey! Stop! That tickles! And slightly hurts but tickles the most!" I squirm on the ground while Kyanite stands above me, smirking. "Oh! You think this is funny do you?! We'll try this on!" I gathered up my strength and flung myself onto Kyanite. The babies followed suite and then it was Kyanite's turn for the slobber fest. I laughed at him while wiping off all the spit on me unsuccessfully. After the babies had all settled down, I picked them up one by one to give them their names and gifts. The 'gifts' were little pieces that I would tie onto them so that I could tell them apart from each other. I picked up the yellow Dramillion that hatched first. "Hmm" I thought out loud. "You shall be called... Daisy" I decided to call them all flower names as their parents are all crystal names and too many crystal names would be confusing. In honour of Daisy's name, I tied a ring of white flowers around her neck. "Now for the blue one" I picked the next one up who tried to lick my hands. "Morning Glory shall be your name as you are so excitable" I gave Morning Glory a feather, which I tied onto her back horn. She licked my face as I put her down. "And now for the three red ones. Okay. Three boys. Yeesh! They'll be a handful. Ok." I put my arms around the three of them. "Ok you boys are: Sweet Pea, for the littlest" I I tied a blue anklet that I had Gobber make for me around his foot. "Cosmos for the middle one" I gave him a green anklet on the same foot as the first. "And finally, Yarrow, the last one" I tied Yarrow a yellow anklet in the same place as the other two. "And that's it. That's the last of them" Each of the babies then returned to their mother's side. I smiled happily. The I looked to Kyanite and said, "too bad they can't stay like this forever. Right boy?" He leaned in to me. I laughed and patted his head.

The next day was flying lessons. All of the adults, including myself, were lined up, flapping our wings, well arms in my case, to show them how it's done. As Dramillions are copy cats, it didn't take them long at all to learn how to fly. The first time actually, was all it took. As soon as the adults had lifted off, the babies had too. But then, noticing me still on the ground, Daisy, Morning Glory and Sweet Pea decided they would help me to fly by half picking me up. They didn't have their strength yet, so they didn't get me very far. I smiled at their antics. Kyanite swooped back down and placed me on his back. We then went and joined the others. The babies that tried to 'help me', following after us. I smiled and laughed. Happy to have peace at last!

Over the next few weeks, I watched as Daisy, Morning Glory, Sweet Pea, Cosmos and Yarrow grew. They went from only two hands high, to just reaching my knees. I looked around and nodded to myself. "Yep. You guys are ready to meet the Dragon Riders" The babies cocked their heads at me. Unaware of what this strange new word meant. I whistled over a Terrible Terror through which I then tied an already prepared letter, onto his leg. "Alright Blink" I told him. "Take this letter to Hiccup ok?" Blink licked his eye and nodded before taking off into the air and zooming towards the edge. I shaded my eyes as I stared after him. "Right! Now to get this place ready".

Location- The Edge

Fishlegs' POV

I was just checking over the Book of Dragons when, coming out of my thoughts, I heard a flapping, and then a CRASH! I flinched at the sound and turned around. A Terrible Terror stood there. A message tied around his leg. I recognised the Terror to be Blink. A Terrible Terror that my friend, Brenna, uses to communicate with us. "Oh is it time!" I said in excitement. I grabbed the letter and read through it quickly. "HICCUP! ASTRID! GUYS! COME QUICKLY! I called the others. They arrived in no time. "What is it Fishlegs?" Hiccup asked.

"Yeah Fishface! You interrupted my beauty sleep. And trust me, I need my beauty sleep" I ignored Snotlout's remark and handed the letter to Hiccup. Almost jumping up and down in excitement. "It's from Brenna" He exclaimed. "Yeah and she's inviting us over to meet the babies. Can you believe it!?" I said, unable to contain my excitement any longer. "Well. There's no use hanging around here any longer. Let's go before the Twins reck the peace and quiet around here" I nodded. Agreeing with Hiccup. Pretty soon, we had all our Dragons saddled and were ready to leave. "Snotlout would you hurry up!" Hiccup shouted to Snotlout who appeared carrying his 'S'. "I'm not leaving this!" He defended himself. "If we're there for a few days, I need my S" We all shook our heads and took off into the air, Snotlout struggling to take off while holding his 'S'. Then we all headed off towards Dramillion Island with Hiccup in the lead.
