The week goes by quickly, and before I know it, it's Friday. I'm unsurprisingly not bored with my work yet - I mean, I love it. Everything I do interests me so much, and I work with such a good team of people. I am super ready for tonight.
Even though Harry isn't attending the party with me, I have to admit, I'm quite excited for it. It would've been nice to have Harry with me, but it's not like it's his fault. It'll be nice to hang out with my coworkers, and hopefully make some more friends. Plus, I'm also excited for Harry to start his tour. Although we will be apart for far too long, I'm beyond excited for him to start traveling, singing, and doing what he loves. It's what makes him happiest, and that's all that matters to me.
I lazily walk over to one of the copying machines, grabbing an article that I finished editing, so I can drop it off at Dev's office for his approval. I get let off early on Fridays, so I get to leave very soon. I get all giddy just thinking about going home and getting all dolled up for tonight.
I gradually walk up to the printer, noticing that Ryan is standing at the copying machine as well. He smiles at me as I approach, being friendly as per usual.
"Coming to the party tonight, Avery?" He asks casually, grabbing my papers for me and handing them over. I smile at the kind action, before nodding my head yes.
"Yeah! I'm really excited," I respond, figuring that he's most likely going as well. I've heard around that he's done his fair share of partying, and I can believe it. He's a really sweet guy and all, he just seems like he'd go out and party a lot.
Harry and I are the opposite. We don't really have friends, so we stay in. Okay, well I guess we technically have friends, but we just like to stay in most of the time. I'd much rather have a movie, a bottle of wine, a pizza, and Harry all to myself rather than a bunch of girls checking Harry out while we are at a club. It's hard having a hot, boyfriend, what can I say?
"I'm excited too," Ryan says, snapping me out of my thoughts. I smile and nod in agreement, about to say goodbye just as he speaks again.
"Are you bringing anyone?" He asks, and I shake my head no. I see him smile to himself briefly, before blushing a bit. I stare at him for a moment, before coming to a sudden realization. Is he flirting with me? I mean, I know he knows I have a boyfriend, so maybe he's just being friendly.
"No, Harry can't come, unfortunately," I say, emphasizing the unfortunately, just to let him know that I'm 100% happy in my current relationship. I honestly can't tell if he's flirting or not, he could just be being nice. Just in case though, I don't want him getting any ideas.
He cocks his head out of curiosity, probably wondering why Harry can't come. "He has a huge meeting for his upcoming tour," I summarize, knowing that he probably doesn't care all that much, so it's pointless to go into large amounts of detail.
"That sucks, but at least you'll be with Lily," he says half heartedly, obviously not really caring that much that Harry isn't coming with me.
I nod, before answering. "Yeah."
He nods back at me and then proceeds to stare at me intently, not saying anything else. I cough awkwardly, looking at his light blue eyes as they watch me. "Are you bringing anyone?" I ask out of curiosity, wondering if I'm going to be the only one showing up alone.
He nods his head yes, making me mentally sigh. Maybe he has a girlfriend. "I'm bringing a buddy of mine, yeah." Nope.
"You can hang out with us if Lily gets too crazy," he laughs, looking over at Lily. She doesn't hear him, just continues to type along on her keyboard as glasses rest upon her nose. I laugh a little, 100% seeing that Lily could get crazy. She's a very loud and crazy person, but I love her to death.
