Late at Night

Demons consume my head, late at night.
I try to ignore them with all my might,
But lately you've been replacing my mind,
And now I feel as if your bright smile has made me blind.
It's late and I should be sleeping.
But I'm wondering how you are, hoping you aren't weeping.

I wish for you to be well,
For you are my everything as far as I can tell.
I'd rather be talking to you right now,
But only if my demons would allow.
I like how I can talk to you about anything.
Hearing you talk about what you love makes my heart swing.

It's late at night, you're still on my mind,
You're like rare treasure that is hard to find.
You don't believe when I say I like you,
But with you around, my cheeks are a pink hue.

Its late night, I should be asleep
My mind is telling me you're someone I should keep.
Distract my mind from the demons that attack me,
Be the beautiful human you're meant to be.
That will be enough from me.

It's late at night,
I don't mind you being in my mind so bright,
For you make me feel so light,
Keep being the reason why I write,
So late at night.
