Akashi's POV

[Death. It was cold, dark, numbing. It engulfed the essence of your soul in sheer nothingness the moment your breath leaves your physical body. When I was alive I never imagined I'd fade away at such a young age. All I could see, if it still counted as seeing, were repeating flashbacks of my last moments. I was in the usual basketball court of the Rakuzan high school. It happened at 11:47 exactly. Being alone, I dimmed the lights not to attract too much attention from bypassing students, even though there weren't any. Everyone were at their homes, probably sleeping. Sweat dripped down my skin as I pounced and dribbled the ball against the hard floor, my hair sticking to my face, breath heavy and ragged. One second away from shooting a prefect three into the basket, I heard shifting. I scanned my surroundings frantically and slowly bent to lay the basketball in my hands down on the floor. It was my mistake. Right at the brief moment I let my guard slightly down, someone dashed towards me. I couldn't attack him or defend myself, being grabbed too quickly. The person took position behind me, locking me down with his rough hand around my neck. The last thing I've seen was a sharp, silver knife heading my way at the speed of light, slicing my throat.]
