Chapter twelve

“Does he say sweet things about you?”

“Does he buys you flowers occasionally?”

“Does he takes you out on dates?”

“Does he hold your hand when you walk?”

I was flabbergasted, by questions hurled mercilessly at my way by my siblings, both male and female representatives. Well it started by Crius dropping me off at home after a whole day of   festive rush handling the upcoming festival events.  I waited for a peck on the cheek by him and I would do so in return as well but it never came, instead he said goodbye, a smile, a hesitant wave and left. They all saw that and decided to carry out an FBI INVESTIGATION me! I’m not some criminal I tell you that but if they don’t stop, somebody WILL die.

“Yes, no, no, yes—Why am I answering these stupid questions anyway and why are you asking most of the questions?" I pointed accusingly at Vulcan and he shrugged. "I'm a nosy motherfucker when i want to be."

“True that--language!.”

“Back to the real question.” i haven't shaken off the weirdness of him asking me these kind of question, “Are you guys at the shaky phase of relationship?” I looked at him long and hard, “Where is Vulcan and what have you done to my brother?”

He was changing for the better after finding his mate, started bonding with me and actually caring about the others. Mate life is taking a toll on him. “Oh don’t use that tone with me Hestia, I’m a better person no? CASE CLOSED. He looked like he was caught with his hand in the cookie jar, unless it’s your cookie jar then that’s a bad sign.” Eww. What does his metaphor suggests?

“I don’t even want to know what you mean.” I started shaking off the horrid thoughts. “He means your junk sis.” Artemis whispered, but we all know we can hear it just fine. I blushed fifty different shades of red.

“I know what he means!” I half whispered half yelled. They all snickered. “How can we be sure he’s not cheating on you?” Hera leaned back into her seat, always the suspicious one. “We’re mates! Its impossible to.” Sure he rejected me at first, not that they know. “Nothing’s impossible sis, you and I both know it.” Hera gave me a knowing look. Shit, she knows that I know. I gave her a guilty look. “Maybe there’s a legit reason?” I bit my lower lip, we’re not talking about me anymore. We’re talking about Adrian, her so-called mate.

“That’s BS! You know what Tia? You’re a pushover, when you’re not the president or the future alpha or even a sister to our pathetic asses, you will always be a pushover. Face the fact he might be cheating on you.” With that she stormed out. I didn’t flinched, I didn’t cry or even show any emotion. Face the fact he might be cheating on you. Her words echoed over and over again. Pushover…Pushover…Pushover.

“She didn’t mean it Tia, you know how angry she is all the time.” Odyne, came over and soothed me. “She’s right, I am a pushover.” I looked at her and then I saw all of them having sad faces. “Nonsense! Everyone except Hestia, OUT!” My mother barged into the room, dad ushering the others out then closed the door behind him. It was just mother and me left.

“Mom.” I hated that i sounded so frail, “Shush dear, mommy’s here.” She held me close to her chest, calming me down with the tempo of her heartbeat. I had this breakdown once before when I was little, people kept telling me I wasn’t good enough to be the next alpha or I was a goodie two shoes. They didn’t know how bad I took it.

“I’m useless mom.” She rubbed my back. “Never think badly of yourself child, you’re NOT useless.” I tilted my head to look at her face. “But mom, I-I never told you this but…Crius rejected me at first.” Her eyes widen in shock., then a murderous look came to be.
