Kyle's POV

"Alrighty! My name is Mrs Rutherford, and I'll be your chemistry teacher for the rest of the year!"

My new chemistry teacher is pretty energetic, I think I'll like her. Hopefully this school hires mentally sane people to teach their classes.

None of my friends are in this class. Well-, Nicole and Jimmy are, but that's a given considering the type of classes I'm taking this year.

I don't reckon Stan or Cartman will be in any of my classes, no offence to them, and I dunno about Kenny. He seems to have the capability, but probably won't out of laziness.

"This is a small town so I presume most of you have grown up together! So today I'll be introducing you all to a new student who I've been told use to live here a couple years ago, so you might recognize Gregory!"

A thin, pale boy walked into the classroom. He's wearing clean-pressed clothes with his elegant blond locks swept back across his face.

I... I remember him. He was an exchange student in our grade three class... or was it grade four? One of those two anyway. Gregory had a 4.0 grade average at a school called 'Yardale', if I remember correctly. What he'd be doing back at our school like this is beyond me.

Oh, and Wendy was quite enamoured with him... I wonder how she'll react when she finds out he's back? Heh, how will Stan react? I'd pay to see his reaction.

"Ah, hello all!" A light blush tinted across his face. The teacher gestures for Gregory to take a seat behind me. He walked down the middle of the classroom to took his seat, still smiling as he removed a folder and some textbooks from his messenger bag.

Maybe I should be friendly towards Gregory? Stan used to constantly make us avoid him because he was salty about his and Wendy's 'friendship', even after she assured him they were just 'mates'. Whatever that means.

And well, Stan and Wendy are still kind of together to this day. Their relationship is super on and off but if you ask either of them who they're dating they'll reply with the other... and that pisses me off!

************

"Alrighty! now I'll give you all ten minutes to talk to the person next you about the compounds on the board!"

If C12H22O11 is the sugar compound and sodium has 23 Protons and Ch-

"Hey- Kyle, wasn't it?" The voice behind me is sophisticated and painfully british; it's Gregory.

"Huh? Yeah?" I replied hesitantly, turning my seat around to face him. I gazed down at his desk and analyze his textbooks and notes, they're all really neat and tidy.

"When I previously lived here we were in the same grade four class, correct?" He smoothed down his silky blond hair and straightened his posture, Greeting me with an even warmer smile.

God he's so pretentious. I kinda like it, he isn't like other kids at this school... Oh my God, I can't believe I just unironically said that.

"Oh, yeah. I remember you," I returned the smile, resting my arms against his organised desk. "You're that british kid with the 4.0 grade average at Yardale right?" My attempts at a conversation are getting dry, but I'm trying my best. Hopefully it doesn't look like I've obsessively remembered him after all this time.

"Yes, It was nice to get away from my sophisticated elementary college and experience a normal school for once. Although I do believe my personality was better suited for Yardale." Gregory spoke in such a posh manor, he doesn't belong in a place like South Park.

"Well I guess it's nice to have you back," I replied before smirking, "Have you returned for any particular reason? Any particular... person?" I winked, alluding to Wendy. If I have to let him down easy, better to do it sooner than later.

He laughed off my question, "Actually..." Gregory drums his fingers against the dark wooden desk, his warm smile turning into a smaller, yet equally as dazed grin.

"There's a... boy I use to know, I don't know if he still lives here, but if he does, then I think I'll shift my attention to him this year." Gregory looked up at me, visibly regretting his last statement.

I tilt my head slightly. A boy? Is Gregory gay?

"I didn't realized you swung that way, you into boys?" I whispered calmly, trying not to make a big deal out if it.

He shruged. But then smiled warmly again. "Between you and me, yes."

"Ooooo~," I responded teasingly, leaning in closer. "Who? Who? I can kept a secret."

Gregory smirked, "Guess."

"Uh..." It could be anyone! How the hell am I meant to guess his weird crush, I just wanted to know who else could possibly be gay at this dumb school...

Oh, wait. I think I do know. "...The Mole? The guy that smoked like a chimney and had a French accent?"

Gregory didn't utter a word, and just grinned. "Yeah... him."

I smiled back, not making a big deal out of the situation, I mean, if I'm going to start a new friendship with Gregory then the best thing I could do is simply respect him.

"Cute." is all I respond with, before our ten minutes are up and we get back to learning about the periodic table.

I never really told Stan formally, but in the small time I got to know Gregory back in fourth grade, we got along quite well. Really well. It was nice to not be surrounded by complete dumbasses for once in my life. Besides, it might be nice to have someone keep me company in my classes for here on out.
