"wow this place looks so dead." alex commented randomly peering through the windows of the establishment to only find some man at the counter.
everyone else stayed quiet, too nervous to even speak as if it would increase their chance of this meet up being worth their time. ten minutes turned into thirty and soon everyone began to question if bam had forgotten about the meeting or if calling the police was necessary.
"hey, it's getting really cold. maybe he's inside?" jani spoke in breaths as she watched the air escape her mouth in white clouds signaling how cold it was. everyone agreed with groans, snuggling into their coats and scarves.
"i texted him-" jinyoung started.
"but no answer." yugyeom finished his sentence with a huge sigh and everyone else began to acquire the same attitude.
"guys it's only been one day, let's not lose hope, we can find him. i swear we will." jackson's voice wavered, everyone knowing what he said held no truth to it. and if it did, it sure didn't sound like it.
mark stood by himself in complete silence, almost like a stiff pole watching as everyone freaked out. it wasn't because he didn't have any sympathy toward the situation, if anything he was terrified. but he didn't know how to make it any better which stopped him from embracing yugyeom as he turned away from the door, gasping when he saw bam's mother.
she looked more tired than she ever did, she reminded mark of a shivering dog hence she wasn't wearing any type of protection from the wind howling at them plus the numerous bystanders on the street.
"he's not here, isn't he?" her voice didn't hold its sweetness as it once did. maybe it was because a bead of sweat and hot cookies straight from the oven weren't around her. her sparkly eyes held no hard work and ambition, only worry and pain.
no one answered her, instead they all, including several of the companions we dragged along, surrounded her in a warm hug. nothing could top the way her body shook as she screamed for bam. multiple people stopped to see what was going on, puzzled by the big group of people surrounding a middle aged women. but of course no one offered a helping hand.
they always judged on the sidelines but never took the time to jump in the game and play it themselves. it was a shame, really. as they all separated, they looked around to see countless cameras pointed at them. some were flashing bright wisps of light while others were trying to be more discreet.
"hey! stop it!" yug's feet were pounding against the gravel as he made his way to a boy who snickered as he recorded. the young boy didn't know what had taken over him once his fist collided with a nose.
"you fucking piece of scum!" his black hair stuck to his forehead despite the frigid cold surrounding him. he was now straddling the stranger, giving him blows from all over.
"yug! stop please." the tall boy felt small fingers pulling his shoulders backwards. he turned quickly, his blood still boiling, eyes meeting cherry hair and frightened eyes. "you're not helping anything. let's just go." the two youngest of the group intertwined their fingers as they walked back, the group they had left behind still working to console bam's mother.
"your fist, it's hurt." her flesh slowly cascaded over the bruises already forming on yugyeom's knuckles. he hissed, the sharp intake of breath not helping his case as he stuffed his hand back in his pocket. "i'll patch it up. later." jani spoke softly as she gently took the other's hand in hers again, this time being careful to not hurt him.
