ADRIEN'S POV

Sitting at my desk, I tapped my fingers one by one into the splinter-filled wood. I wasn't jealous, she's just a prisoner. A pretty one. Who's a fish. Half-fish.

Feeling conflicted, I rubbed my temples harshly and looked out the small, colorful window in my door. Marinette was entering her and Rose's room to get ready for her little "date".

I slouched into my chair and folded my arms, thinking about a scenario where someone would actually fall for that anxiety-driven kid. He's too shy to date, and he's been stalking Marinette this whole time, too. She did friend zone him, though.

Why am I thinking about th!-

Nino walked in, looking unimpressed and cocky as the same time.

"Do you know how to knock?" I grimaced.

"Nah, then you'd know it's me." He chuckled. "Anyways, I came to visit on Sir Jealous the II."

I immediately sat up and gave him a deep frown.
"I am not jealous. Why does everyone think I'm jealous?!" I grumped. He smirked at me, and I avoided his knowing look.

"Mhmm. Anyways, I have come up with a plan."

"A plan? For what?"

"A plan to ruin Marinette and Nathaniel's date tonight." He rubbed his fingernails together as to appear superior and I chortled. I was not amused by his idea, but I was certainly intrigued.

"We are not doing that. How does one even have the willpower to ruin the date of the two most innocent people on this ship? It wouldn't benefit me at all."

"It's not to benefit you, it's to terminate anything they could develop tonight, dude! Then later on, when she's totally head over heels for you, you're the one who ends up with her when she's ready." He explained.

"That does sound stupid and foolproof..." I Muttered, thinking.

"Totally is. Seriously man, what could go wrong?"

«MARINETTE'S POV»

Rose finished getting my hair ready, and by that, I mean brushing it for a few minutes too many as she mentally prepared me for my first date. Eat cleanly, don't slouch, don't let awkward silence take your date away. I'm sure that's all she said, right?

She walked me to the dining room afterward, continuing her list of sage advice. I just listened and nodded, trying to shove too many mental notes into my nervous brain.

"I'm glad Nathaniel finally found a girl, even though there's no way you're actually interested. He's like a sad little tomato that lives in a sad little house. And he only lets Juleka and I visit."

I rubbed my arm guiltily and gulped. "B-but this is completely platonic! We're not gonna become a couple or anything." I let slip a nervous grin.

"Of course not, but let him off easily please." We stopped in front of the doors that led into the dining room, and instead of leaving me to my misery, she got unknowingly serious. "Marinette, if anyone hurt you, I would hunt them down and make them suffer a thousand stabbings. But, if you hurt Nathaniel, I will kill you, then everyone on this ship, and then myself."
