There are words I never said,
Phrases I am still to scared to admit
Thoughts I'll never share aloud.
Some days these words drown me in my fears.
All I ever wanted you to be was happy,
Even at the cost of my own life,
But now that you're a stranger,
I wish it had taken me,
I wish it could be me that makes you happy.
Everyday I look for your shadow,
hoping one day you'll smile at me again.
I try to act sly and rude, I try to act like I don't care,
But I do. I care so much that it hurts
With every ignorance there's a tear in my heart
It shouldn't hurt so much, but it does
Every time I see you in a pastel painting,
I want to run to you, and hug you
I want everything to go back,
I wish we could start over,
It was better to have lost you, then never being able to meet you
It was better for you to leave, then for us never to have bonded
It was better to have said goodbye, then never have said hello.
But forever and always,
I love you to the moon and back.
You're still really important to me, and you'll always be enough.
