•Chapter Twelve•

"Annie!Wake up!" Hayley said nudging me at my ribs. "Ow!"I said out loud. "Well your the one that kicked me yesterday so...."
"Whatever!What do you want?!"
"Are you dumb?! Today's Mackenzie's funeral stupid!"
"Fu-Funeral?!"
"Mackenzie died! Remember?!"
"Well of course- but I didn't know her funeral was today!"
"Oh yeah...Mom just told me. Now get up!"Hayley said,rushing out of my room. What time is it? I checked my phone. 8:45 AM
I'm still so tired. I got up,brushed my teeth and went downstairs. I found Hayley and my parents eating cereal,eating toast,and my parents drinking their coffee. "Mom,when'd you get the email or whatever that today was the funeral?" I asked.
"The funeral home emailed everyone Melissa invited last minute." My mom said. After about fifteen minutes of eating,I got up. I went to my closet and picked out the darkest black dress I had. I paired it with black flats,and straightened my hair. "Annie and Hayley, get in the car." Dad said,as we got in. I took my phone out.
Nadia💕:did u guys know today was the funeral?!
Ruby💛:yeah our mom just told us
Hayden💜:my mom just told me. how come they didn't say it earlier?

My parents finally got into the car and we drove to the funeral. Once we got there,I saw the whole crew sitting on one side of the church as I sat next to them. Johnny tapped my shoulder and whispered into my ear.
"Annie?"
"Yeah?"
"There's some bad news."
"Nothing could be worse than this. What is it?"
"Well uh-"
"Spit it out!"
"Before you came,Melissa asked me to tell you to say a brief speech about Mackenzie since you are her bestie."
"What! I don't even have anything planned! What am I supposed to say?!"
"Whatever you're feeling!"
"HUH?!"
"And now I would like to invite Annie LeBlanc- Mackenzie's best friend to share a couple of words about Mackenzie." Melissa said pointing her finger at me. I went up and stood on a stood and put my mouth to the mike. "Hi everyone. I'm Annie- Mackenzie's best friend- and my best friend too. I was invited up here to say some words about Mackenzie,so thank you Mrs.Ziegler for inviting me up here.Mackenzie was such a kind and angelic soul to everyone she met and everyone she knew. She always cared for people and their needs- and always put people above her,even in times of danger. She was a beautiful girl,both inside and out. I remember when I was scared I used to tell her all my problems. I never talked to anyone like I did to her. I never felt such a connection. She is my best friend- my sister,my soulmate and everything to me. And I will never forget Mackenzie Frances Ziegler,not even if I'm in a coma,not even if the world is ending,not even if a death threatening situation comes upon me. Because she is the strength that kept me going- and she will forever be. I love you so much,Mackenzie." I said choking up with tears flooded in my eyes.
