'My Knight' literally fainted in my arms. I groaned as I gently laid him on the ground.
"Oh, I didin mean to scere him like that! I was just makin an osberation!" Fred seemed to take personal offence.

"No, it's fine," I assured him. "He's just a..." scaredy cat, whimp, baby, "an odd duck." I finished kindly.

"Oh, uhuh." the man got on his knees beside me and laid a hand on 'My Knight's' back. "Oh, well, he be a breathin'." He assured me. I rolled my eyes. Oh, really I thought he was dead. I about said out loud.

"Listen," I said instead. "Can you help get us back to the village?"

"Oh, well, no," he said rising to his feet. "You see I'm s'psed to set this here barn on fir 'nd I woodn want to dispoint 'em." I considered arguing, but this man was hard to talk to.

"Do you have a horse or something I could borrow?" I finally asked. "I don't think I can carry him all the way back."

"Oh, I cin't giv' ya my hurse! She's the only one I get left. But yous can burrow my wheelburow!" the man seemed extremely excited and generous. I, on the other hand, was not thrilled.

"You expect me to take him all the way back to the village, in a wheelbarrow?" I asked with as much sarcasm as I could muster. He didn't take the hint.

"Oh, eyup!" The man clapped his hands, "You better git goin! It sounds like there might be a storm commin." He helped me get 'My Knight' into the wheelbarrow he was referring too and we (Well me and my unconscious hero) set out into the night.

Now I may not be a normal girl who ONLY  knows how to embroider and stuff, but that doesn't mean my arms don't tire. Then it started to rain

"UHG!!!!" I shouted at no one imparticular. After about an hour of pulling around 'My Knight' in the rain, I decided to stop and take a break. It was a nice area, but it was pretty dark by now. I started to rant to  my unconscious friend.

"You know, my life was pretty normal until you showed up... What kind of Knight are you? You have to be the most ridiculous guy I've ever met in my life. Even more ridiculous than Mike, and he's pretty ridiculous." That's when it happened. Of course, it did. I should have seen it coming. The way that things were going, I really should have expected it. People in masks were everywhere. This guy picked me up and began to carry me away, I struggled the best I could, but to no avail. (Oooh, avail, I should start a list of my favourite words.)

Then a white cloth was placed against my mouth. I tried not to breathe it in, but not breathing isn't the easiest feat. While getting kidnapped is fun, I really needed a new hobby.

"I need to retire," I mumbled as sleep overtook me.

I'm alive!!! I know, I know, it's been FOREVER since I've updated. Life got really busy there for a while. That mixed with writer's block kind of prohibited me from writing. My writing should be a bit more regular now. Thank's so much for baring with me during my hiatus. All my stories will be taking on their usual update date.

Let me know what you thought of this chapter! Where did all these people come from? Why are they trying to kidnap Alice? Will she ever make it home? Let me know in the comments! I'd love to know what you are thinking!

Once again, thank you to @koreanwriter01 for the awesome cover!

God bless,
