~ ~ ~

As I sheepishly awaited more information, I went through everything I knew.

I was in the palace. Check.

The King and Queen thought I was their daughter. Check.

A crazy knight was epically failing at trying to protect me. Check.

All of this was for me. Not check.

I was not following this whatsoever. The King looked at me sympathetically.

"Many years ago," (Oh great, here comes the monologue) "we discovered dangerous enemies in the castle. Enemies who wished to do harm to the royal family. They were sent away, banished, but, threats were made. Threats towards our infant daughter, Alecia." (Ah, so this is where me, not me, comes in.) "We feared for her life, your life. For you are Alecia." (Sure I am, of course, how could I be so ignorant to not assume I've been lied to my entire life. Perfect sense. I'm a princess... Ha! Have you met me?) "To preserve your life we sent you away to a small village, Nameless. A place where no one would think to look for the only heir to the throne. You were set on the doorstep to a childless family. They knew nothing of you. Nothing of your heritage, nor even your name. They called you Alice. Very close to your given name, Alecia. We watched from a distance as you grew. Watched as you became the beautiful girl you are." I looked at my pink dress. (Obviously they hadn't watched me well enough if they think I even remotely like this dress.) "But last week we got word that our enemies had once again entered our Kingdom. Word that they had learned who you were. We immediately sent Michael," He motioned to "My Knight". "Your betrothed since birth to rescue you." (And I ended up rescuing him. This is great. I'm not going to spend the rest of my life saving my husband from idiotic stunts. No way. No how.) "He brought you here. And now, we have to need to worry. Our enemies have been caught. In fact they basically begged for us to take them. Muttering something about the 'Queen of the Wolves.'" I smirked and "My Kn-", Michael, glanced at me.

"That was all Ali- Alecia your highness." Michael smiled. (I think, he had to get rid of that mask.) "She scared her captors away with a truly terrifying story of the Queen of the Wolves." The King raised his eyebrows questioningly, I blushed.

"Well it worked didn't it?" I shrugged.

"Now that you are safe, we can begin to plan the wedding." The Queen spoke. The King nodded and Michael stood there looking awkward.

"Woah, woah, woah, wait a minute. No. I'm sixteen years old. I'm not ready to get married!" Not gonna lie, I panicked. I was in no way ready to get married.

"But dear, all royals are married at a young age. It is not at all odd." The Queen assured.

"For you maybe... but for me? I'm not ready. Not to mention someone I just met!" The words fell from my mouth in a jumbled mess.

"Actually m'lady." The "knight" stepped forward in a bow. "We have known each other for quite a long time." He tried to dramatically remove his mask, but he ended up yanking it to hard and managing to fall and nearly roll to me. Then he looked up and I couldn't stop my gasp of surprise.

"Wait... no... you... Michael....No..." I sputtered. There was laughter at my realization that "My Knight", Michael, was in fact, my crush, Mike. Check.
