At the abandoned subway station, I was sitting on a stool next to Derek, Aaron was messing with his jacket's zipper, Isaac was leaning against a pillar, and Boyd was at work. We were all waiting for Erica to come back.
"He's here." Isaac announced
I clenched my jaw as Erica dragged Jackson down the stairs. Derek, noticing my reaction, put his hand over mine to calm me down. He's been doing these little things lately and all it's done is confuse me. Anyway back to the task at hand. Aaron and Isaac went over to Jackson and took over the job of holding Jackson. They brought Jackson over to me and Derek.
"What happened to you on the night of the full moon?" Derek asked
Derek looked at his hands.
"What?" Jackson asked
Jackson's eyes found mine, I glared at him and Aaron leaned down to Jackson's ear.
"She doesn't want to talk to you." Aaron growled
I gave my twin a thankful look.
"Nothing. Nothing happened." Jackson snapped
His heartbeat sped up as he said that and Derek looked up.
"You're lying." Derek said
Derek's voice was calm as he started to put on a leather glove.
"No, wait. No, wait, I can - I can prove it. I taped myself." Jackson said
He looked around frantically.
"You taped yourself?" Isaac asked
He chuckled, raising an eyebrow.
"Yes." Jackson said
He narrowed his eyes.
"It was the full moon. And maybe while you were curled in the corner having an existential crisis about turning into a monster, I was preparing for the so - called gift your big, bad Alpha promised me, and what did I get? Nothing." Jackson said
I yawned. I was getting bored at how long this was taking.
"You want proof? Let me get the video." Jackson said
"No." Derek said
He grabbed the piece of glass, with the Kanima venom, from behind him.
"No, I have a better idea." Derek said
"Wait." I said
I saw Jackson sigh in relief. What does he think I'm gonna do? Help him? I almost laughed at the thought. I stretched out my hand to Derek.
"I wanna do it." I said
Derek put the piece of glass on the flood, slid off his glove, and handed it to me as I put it on. I took the venom from the floor and walked over to Jackson.
"What is that?" Jackson asked, frightened
Isaac and Aaron shoved Jackson to his knees, and Erica held his head back so that his mouth was open.
"You know, Jackson, you've always been kind of a snake - And everyone knows a snake can't be poisoned by its own venom." I said
I stopped in front of him and tilted the glass, so that the venom would land in his mouth. We all stepped back as he started choking, and we watched as he became paralyzed. Derek let out a sigh of annoyance and walked over to Jackson. He kneeled down next to Jackson.
"You're still a snake, Jackson, just not the one we're looking for." Derek said, softly
With that Derek and I headed into one of the train cars. I saw Isaac bending down next to Jackson and I strained my ears.
"You're still gonna have to do one more thing for us. Well, actually, for me." Isaac said
I smirked knowing exactly what Isaac was asking for.
