"I'm sorry, I know ghar thoda chota hai par-", Manik started explaining as we walked around the house.

Translation: I'm sorry, I know the home is a bit small but-

I shook my head, cutting him off, "Shhhh! Ghar chota nahi hai. Ghar kabhi chota ho sakta hai?"

Translation: Shhhh! The home isn't small. Can a home ever be small?

He looked at me confused.

I smiled, "Abhi toh ye makan hai, isse makan se ghar banane ka safar ab shuru hota hai. Aur ye makan ghar tab banega jab har kone mein humari hansi ghoonjegi, har deewar pe humare pyaar ke nishaan honge, jab hum apna chaap yaha chodenge. Makan chota ho sakta hai par ghar? Ghar kabhi chota nahi ho sakta!"

Translation: Right now, this is a house. The journey to transform this house to a home begins now. And this house will become home when our laughter will echo in every corner, when every wall will bear a symbol of our love, when we will leave our print here. The house may be small but home? Home can never be small!

Manik smiled as he shoved his hands in his pockets and gazed at the floor.

I quickly glanced at the house and turned to face Manik, "I'll start by sweeping and mopping. In the meantime, please call the movers and ask them how much time they'll take to come here. After that, go outside and please arrange the shoe rack and fix the nameplate."

Manik nodded, "Yes, I'll do that."

Half an hour later, I had successfully managed to sweep and mop the entire house. Our furniture, clothes and stuff had arrived and Manik had put up the nameplate and assembled the shoe rack.

Manik and I spent the next twenty minutes ironing the curtains and putting them up in the living room and dining room. We took a break for five minutes and then put a mattress near the window in our bedroom and living room. While Manik arranged the cushions and pillows, I arranged for a person to come and drill a few holes in the wall for our paintings and things to be hung up.
