Ross P.O.V

After they placed the door and the things they bought into the house, we drove to the hospital.

She was lying down on the hospital bed with an annoyed face.

"What the hell was with you?" Haley screamed when we all entered the ward.

"Dumbass got on my nerves." She spat. I was beside the bed where she laid.

I recalled what the doctor said. Her arms and legs had cuts on them even though she wore full length pants, her stomach was badly bruised and her ribs were nearly fractured. Rachel, surprisingly, only suffered a few minor injuries and dislocated her right shoulder and her left ankle.

"Yeah? But Raven's over him now. He ain't worth it."

"Yeah, but he still deserved it for playing with her heart."

"Dude! You went overboard!" I shouted at her. I don't know why... there was this itching feeling at the back of mind worrying for her. They all stared at me, horrified that I raised my voice. Not Rachel though... Her cool, laid back demeanour still remained.

"He deserved more than a few punches. He deserves to go to hell." She cursed.

"This conversation is over." She scoffed. "Now let me be."

Haley shook her head and started to console Raven.

Amethyst stood beside me. I knew she was biased to me but this isn't the time to think about that...

Amethyst P.O.V

An awkward silence filled the room with so much tension. Ratliff went over to console Raven.

"Hey Amy..."

"Yea?" I immediately answered her.

"You better take care of the girls when I'm not around, love." It's when she was injured, she was still worrying about us. I smiled at her. Under the reckless side of her, was a sweet, caring little girl with lots of love to give.

"Of course, Rachie."

"Dont. Call. Me. Rachie." She said out slowly, wincing when she said the last word. We used the word "Rachie" when she was being a softy to us. Since then, she hated that pet name.

"Okay. Okay. Shush now. You need rest."

She reminded to help me get some stuff for her. Like her phone, her headphones, her charger, some fresh change of clothes and her portable charger.

Soon the members of R5 left and the nurse went in to give Rachel her dosage. I didn't want to stay with Ratliff and Raven so I left the hospital and managed to catch up with the rest of R5.

"That was the most terrifying moment of my life." Rydel said, staring at the hospital as the cab left.

"Swagster seemed very badly injured..."

"Rachel's scary! How'd you live with her..." Ross said.

"On the outside, she may seem brutal and reckless... But she's actually a big softy. She's like a teddy bear. Soft and cuddly..." I smiled thinking of her.

"But what did Dennis mean? What did he mean about dead, broken family..." All three looked at me, expecting me to reply them.

I sighed. Rachel warned me never to talk about her past. Only I know about it...

But it's them. They wouldn't betray her. The cab driver doesn't even know who we're talking about.

"Me and Rachel go way back." I started, "we met in elementary school. I was getting bullied by Stella and her group of friends when Rachel came in the threatened to burn their hair off if they continued to bully me again."

I smiled just remembering about it.

"She stood up for those whom got bullied by others. She stood up for what she strongly believed in. It was very admirable, actually... I wanted to find a way to repay her. That was when I realized she was an orphan."

"I searched up on the orphanage that housed her and saw blog reviews of it. It said that the people in charge were very rude and the children there were poor things. They had no toys. Those who had toys would have theirs stolen or spoiled."

"So... I asked my parents to adopt her after telling then what happened. They happily obliged. She didn't stop defending me there. Ever since then, we became close friends. Sisters in fact. That's all I know. I don't understand what Dennis meant by mental institution fire but I know she suffered a lot as a kid. She didn't receive the love she should have gotten as a child..." I found my voice cracking and I realized I was in tears. Shit.

Rydel noticed it and she immediately took out some tissues and cleaned my eyes for me. I mumbled a thank you and cleaned my eyes.

I looked at Amethyst as she teared up just by telling us about Rachel. I was also tearing up and I realized Ross was on the verge of tears too. Rocky had a look of sorrow which I barely even see him have.

We reached our house and paid the cab driver and got out. We walked Amethyst home and after she left, we went back to ours.

"I didn't realize Rachel was from a broken family..." Rocky whispered solemnly.

"Never judge a book by it's cover." I said to him.

Suddenly, Ratliff and Riker came in.

"Why does everyone look so gloomy?" Ryland asked as he came down the staircase to greet us.

"We just came from the hospital. Rachel got caught in a brawl and she was badly injured." I said.

"And we found out about her past... it's very... heartbreaking..." Rocky said.

So after retelling what Amy said to Ryland, Riker and El, we all sat in silence.

"We should do something for her..." Ross said.

"Yea... when's she getting discharged?" I asked.

"Three days later... On Raven's birthday!" Riker said when realization hit him.
