Chapter seven

I wanted to leave, but I couldn't, because of Luke, so I tried to hide myself. 

I took out my phone and started to read something. 

Suddenly I heard a male voice next to me.

"Haley! What a surprise! I didn't expect to see you so soon again." 

I slowly raised my head and looked directly into Andy's big, brown eyes. 

"Andy!... Hey!... Yeah,.... I'm here with Luke.... I have to wait for him, but what are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be like... at work?" I stuttered. 

"It's Saturday. I only work Monday till Friday, so no, I'm not supposed to work."

He smiled at me. 

"You know, that I didn't mean that." 

"Yeah... well I'm here, because I wanted to...ahmm... I wanted to... I kinda had to get away from everything, you know? Work and stuff." 

"And stuff? You mean a girl, don't you?"

"No, I don't mean a girl. I'm single." 

I looked at him. 

"Do you want to sit down?" I asked unsure. 

"Yeah, of course." 

"So you're here with Luke?"

"Yes, he's buying a gift for his girlfriend. They had a fight and he wants to apologize."

God, our smalltalk was so weird and uncomfortable. 

"And how's work? Still working for that Shue-guy?" 

When I heard Mr. Shue's name I twitched. 

"Yes, actually. Surprised?" 

"No, not really. He always seemed to like you." 

"Yeah, I think so."

He looked at me and after a few seconds he asked me:

"Do you want to visit me sometime? I mean in ..... We could do something together. As friends."

"Andy... I'm not sure, if I'm ready to... you know "be friends" yet."

"Oh, yeah, I totally understand that."

He looked down disappointed. 

"But I'll think about it."  I said without thinking about it. 

"Yeah, okay." 

Thank god, Luke then finally came. 

"Hey Andy! What are you doing here?" 

"Just taking some time off. Ahem... I gotta go. Bye guys!"

He left without any more words. 

"Well that was weird." said Luke jokingly. 

I rolled my eyes. 

"Come on, let's drive home."
