Living next to a cute boy who I developed feelings for wasn't as hard as it seemed, well I thought it wasn't hard, until friendship slowly started to bloom and day by day I saw him more and more

Currently, it was raining like no tomorrow while I was on my way back home from work and unfortunately, I broke my one and only umbrella this morning. I ran like the flash once the pouring caught a quick pace and waited impatiently for the bus while sighing in relief. Thanks to my fast running skills, I didn't get heavily drenched and was able to stay dry for the most part, but the coldness was having me shiver from top to bottom while I rubbed my palms together and blew out hot breaths

A familiar figure caught my eye from the right side and I turned around to find my cute neighbor, Onew, smiling down at me with his big shiny smile while he had his umbrella hovered above my head

"Oh thanks Onew" I smiled in gratitude referring to his caring gesture and he shook his head like it wasn't a big deal

"Here, hold this for a second" he ordered and I took the umbrella out of his grip. He unzipped his jacket and took it off, a white sleeveless tank top showcased his perfectly toned muscles and I looked down trying to hide a blush. Onew wrapped his jacket around my shoulders and took the umbrella out of my grip.

"Onew but you'll get cold too. You only have a tank top on" I protested

"Don't worry (Y/N) it's fine. Please, no more ifs or buts" he pleaded and I giggled. He knew how reserved I was and was probably used to, and/or fed up of, my complains and restrains. I kept my mouth shut and wore his jacket and zipped it up, allowing it to hang loosely over my body, protecting me from the gruesome cold winds

"Why didn't you bring an umbrella (Y/N)? It was raining in the morning too. Did you get wet in the morning?" he spoke in worry

"No I didn't get wet. I did bring an umbrella but broke it as soon as I reached work" I pouted and he chuckled.

The bus arrived in no time and we hopped on, only to be led to our final destination

We walked out together upon reaching our block and Onew held the umbrella for me while we huddled under the same umbrella and walked in close proximity to our respective houses while we held onto some small talk. Even though it was super chilly outside I still felt hot cause of the close proximity to Onew. Onew offered to walk me up to my front door and I smiled at his gentlemanly gesture

"Thank you Onew. You saved me today" I thanked him in sincerity

"No problem (Y/N). I'm just relieved to see you make it back safely" my heart melted at his innocent honesty while also booming wilding against my chest

"Here, keep this. I think it'll rain tomorrow as well, so you'll need it on your way to work" he handed me his umbrella and I protested against it but he someone managed to convince me into it

He knew how to each time

"But how will you get home?" I blurted out

"I'll run like the flash" he boasted and I giggled

"Bye" he waved and I bid him goodbye

I stood against the door frame watching him cautiously run down my porch and rush towards his house while he tried to barricade himself from the rain by putting his hands up above his head in one continuous line

I sighed in relief once I saw him enter his house safely and I closed my door as well.

I quickly showered and hit the bed in tiredness. Sleep consumed me soon enough and I didn't protest at all
