Try to write some words to learn how to write in that language but also to finally learn some new words.

Well you could learn how to write your name in that language or just write some greetings and words you like.
Where should I write?
It doesn't matter. I recomend that you get a notebook where you write down all of your progress, like some grammar or the alphabet just to make sure you really learn it. That way you have everything in one place and you won't forget as easily.
