I would've loved to say it only happened once.

Me, being put into sleep and dragged out of the complex to god knows where. Only to wake up in the same bright room with people poking needles at me.
It happened again.

Ezra had told me he had looked into it and said that they assured him I was fine, but I knew he just couldn't do much. Not when armed men appeared at the door and drugged me into unconsciousness.

I hated him for not being able to stop those men, and for not feeling guilty at all, just taking it as a step back in his mission.

There I was being drugged into unconsciousness again, after I yelled from the pain I felt this time in my arm.

Instead of waking up in my bed, as I had the last time, I woke up in a small, grey room. I wasn't laying on a bed, it was more of a cushion, if you could call it that.

I breathed the cold air and looked around me with tired eyes. I wasn't feeling nauseous now, but I realized I wasn't feeling something either. I wasn't feeling my arm.

I snapped my eyes to my left arm and for my relief, there it was still attached to my shoulder. I sighed, a little tear escaped my eyes at the idea of them chopping me like a piece of meat, it wasn't that far from reality and it scared the hell out of me.

I looked around. It was so small I could walk around it with just ten steps.

"Hello?" I said. My voice was raspy and weak. I sat up in the "bed". I saw little windows to each side of me, and what looked like a door in front of me. It wasn't just a door, it was made of the same material as the walls. Then it hit me, it was a cell.

Panic started to rise inside of me. Every fear I had of becoming the woman I had seen in the lab was now turning true. I was going to end up like her. What did I think? That they would keep me with Ezra in that comfortable prison forever? Missing the opportunity to test, whatever it is they tested, on the perfectly good piece of meat I was.

"Hello? Is someone here?" I called as I felt slight tears flowing from my eyes. I knew I wouldn't get an answer, but it's the only thing I thought of doing. I couldn't even move one arm, let alone try to force the door to escape.

"This can't be happening!" I yelled and brought my knees to my chest.

"Sorry to break it to you, but it is" I heard a small voice sound, but I couldn't see who it was.

"What? Who is that?" I said loudly, opening my eyes to look everywhere around me.

"Shh! You'll attract the oompa loompas" I heard the voice again. It was coming from one of the small windows.

I placed my bare feet on the cold floor and pulled myself up, walking towards the opening. I saw it had little metal bars on it, even though the window was as small as a book.

I looked inside and I saw her. The first thing that caught my attention was her short, orange hair. It was messy and looked dirty but I could still note it was natural.

She was sitting on her bed, one leg propped up, the other one hanging down. She looked to the front with such clear, blue eyes, they were almost transparent. Her face was really pale, cheeks lacked all healthy blush. I figured I must've looked the same.

"Who are you?" I asked. Her eyes shot up at me.

"I'm Kaia, nice to meet you" Her pale lips rose up to smile at me lightly. The short, bob-cut hair swung as she tilted her face to give me a curious look. "Who are you?
