Prompt: Zari and Amaya say goodbye...(SPOILER IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE SEASON FINALE OF LEGENDS OF TOMORROW)

"We should say goodbye here." Zaria sighs as she sets down the jump ship in Zambesi Village, 1942, staring mindlessly forward.

"Why?" Amaya whispers, holding onto her totem tightly as the tears already begin forming.

"Because, if we say goodbye out there, there's no way I can walk away from you. I'd keep walking forward with you." Zari confess as she turns to look at her.

"Don't say things like that, Z." Amaya snaps, shaking her head as the tears begin to flow.

"Then, don't go! Don't go, Amaya." Zaria pleads brokenly as she slaps down on the consoles in front of her angrily.

"I can't have this discussion again, Zari." Amaya sighs wiping her tears away violently.

"I know, I know. I'm sorry." Zari apologizes as she takes a deep breath calming herself down.

"Don't apologize, I understand where you're coming from. Goodbyes, they're never easy." Amaya comforts as she kneels down next to Zari, who's sitting in the pilot seat, refusing to look at her.

"Especially if it's a goodbye you knew was coming." Zari laughs bitterly.

"It doesn't make it any easier. We both know that." Amaya reasons.

"I can't do this without you. I can't be without you, now that I've had you. It's like breathing without air, Amaya." Zaria says angrily.

"Zari, you've been breathing long before I came around." Amaya smiles, rubbing her knee comfortingly.

"Yeah you just made it easier." Zari mumbles.

"You will be the amazing totem bearer that I know you are. You will go on the craziest adventures, and do crazy things with our friends who've become our family. You will the live you've always deserved, a happy one. You're going to find love again, Zari." Amaya says confidently as she pulls Zari to her feet.

"I don't want to, find love again. I want you, Amaya, only you." Zari whispers, a single tear sliding down her cheek.

"Imagine, I've said that after Rex, after Nate. And here I am, saying goodbye to my one true love." Amaya laughs.

"You shouldn't let her go then, if that's how you feel." Zari offers.

"I shouldn't, no. But she knows how much I've missed home, I've missed my family. That I have a family awaiting me in the future that needs me more. She also knows she would never make me choose." Amaya says strongly.

"Yeah, she'd never. She'd let you go before ever making  you choose." Zari agrees.

"So, I think I'm gonna just hold her now. Because she already knows that she means the world and more to me, that there'll always be a piece of me that belongs to her now." Amaya says, beginning to get choked up.

"She'll hold you too, so tight because she wants to relish in what little time they have left. She'll think of all they're memories, good and bad. She'll think of how lucky she was to have someone like her." Zari whispers, the tears piling up, ready to burst.

Amaya and Zari engulf in a tight hug, leaving no room for space.

"I love you so much, Zari. I'm gonna miss you." Amaya sobs brokenky into her shoulder.

"I love you too, Amaya. I'm gonna miss you too, baby." Zari whispers brokenly , finally breaking down into sobs.

After minutes of a sobbing hug, the girls pull away. Only to embrace in one final kiss. A kiss filled with tears, despair, and all the love they felt for one another. Finally, Amaya breaks the kiss, dropping a kiss on Zari's forehead before pulling away completely.

"I'll see you again, Amaya." Zari promises.

"I'd like to hope that, Z. And remember: legends never die." Amaya smiles a final time, leaving the jump ship, her team of Legends, and more importantly, Zari.

Author's Note: not gonna lie, feel like complete and utter shit. One of the best left, and I don't even know how to deal, honestly. I feel so emotional about this. I'm throwing myself into this, I refuse to let Amaya be forgotten or Zari/Amaya. I'm doing prompts, you guys and my own, maybe even try my hand in alternate universes, just saying. Heart is broken, for real though. First Thea and now Amaya, can't even right now. Comment prompts, help me continue this story, please.
