I was invited to a meeting by Rose. This is going to be a long day.

Upon arriving at Bakersfield meeting room, I knocked at the door and I was immediately asked to come in. "Good morning." She smiled sweetly. "Take a seat." She gestured one of the empty seats.

"Good morning Rose and James." I greeted in the most professional manner. Rose was the team leader of the Vendor Data Maintenance team, while James was the team manager of Payments and Vendor Data Maintenance Teams.

"We have invited you because we would like to discuss the memo that you have to sign and acknowledge regarding the incident that happened last October." James started. I took the seat near the door. Rose handed to me the copy of the memo. I kept my face blank as I read it.

"I need to go as I still have another meeting." James declared. I immediately looked-up and saw the two mouthing something to each other. Something like "I can handle this". I ignored them and went back to reading the material.

"Do you have any questions?" I heard her say as I place the document on the table.

"None." I said plainly.

"We need to issue a memo as you know it's a serious offense and I hope you learned your lesson." Rose stated measuring my reaction. "Be thankful that you weren't even suspended." Those last words irritated me. I stared into her eyes making her uncomfortable under my cold gaze. She began twitching on her seat. Yes, just the reaction I want.

I couldn't help but to smirk. "I knew what happened was unacceptable and I do not have any plans on committing it again." I stressed. Don't take me as a fool. "It was a plain accident and a miscommunication between the projects team and me." I signed the letter and handed it to her.

"So how are you in your new team?" She changed the topic hoping I could lessen my cold treatment. "I heard that you were tasked to oversee the project that Virginia came up with." Is she trying to eavesdrop or something? "Be thankful Ms. Jen is giving you another chance." Calm down. I decided to let that one go. Yes, my dear manager gave me another chance and I must not waste it.

"I am not aware of any oversight task being handed to me." I smiled slightly. "I have to go. It's my payment run today." I excused myself and brought with me the copy of the memo.

It was 4 O'clock in the afternoon when my last meeting finished. I was walking back to my work station when: "Luna, Ms. Jen was looking for you. She wants you to go at Salt Lake now." JK called out.

"Okay. Thanks." I replied briefly.

"You look exhausted." His concern for me was clearly visible. "How about a drink or two later?"

"Sure. After work." I gave him my friendliest smile.

I tried to calm down myself before I knocked on the door.

"Come in." I heard her call.

"Good afternoon Ms. Jen." I warmly greeted her.

"Take a seat Luna." She smiled back. "Any idea why I asked you to come here?" she asked in a teasing tone. I couldn't help but to laugh.

"No I don't have any idea." I told her with all honesty.

"Well I would like to inform you about your performance rating." And my heart tripled its beat. "Your rating is 2 minus." She said. Anticipating my reaction. "Sorry I couldn't salvage your rating. I know you've done a lot last year and I know you will get up and prove them wrong." She continued when I didn't say anything.

I continued to stare on the floor and gathered my wits. "I anticipated that this will happen and I'm thankful that my rate isn't 3." I said as I look into her dark brown eyes. "I will try my best to improve my performance." I promised.

"You know you are really doing well. I knew that Virginia isn't the one who came up with that kind of process improvement. It was your project so I will hand it over to you. Implement it as soon as possible." She revealed. However I remained silent. "Sorry that you are no longer part of the crème of crop." She finally said the words I feared to hear. "And JK will be replacing you in the list." The crème of the crop list contains the names of the people who are high performers which excel in both work and diversity. JK is part of the Just Dance group while Luna is part of the Musically group. To be part of the said list an employee must be consistently has a 2 plus or 1 rating.

A single tear escaped my eye and I wiped it instantly. "I understand." That's all I can manage to say. "If you have process improvements in mind or other concern, feel free to drop by at my work station. See you around." That was my cue to go. "Bye Ms. Jen."

On my way back to my place, I was in deep thought. Why strip it off from me? After all that I've done, everything was taken away from me. I gave blood, sweat and tears just to implement all the projects handed to me but they were all looked over just because of that fucking mistake. My mind was so clouded with negative emotions.

"Hey!" JK called out.

"Hey JK sorry I was late." I sincerely apologize. "Let's go?"

"Sure!" Enthusiastic as ever. "By the way I invite some of my friends. Sorry for the late notice." He shyly asked.

"No worries. I will call my friends too." I speed dialed Yoongi's number and to my surprise he agreed to go out.

This will be an epic night.
