My Brother's Best Friend

Chapter 8

Luna's POV:

"YOU SLEPT WITH KAITLYN'S DAD!"

She froze in her place saying and doing nothing. She turned pale.

"What?!" She asked still playing innocent.

"IS THAT WHY YOU AND JOHN ARE GETTING A DIVORCE?! BECAUSE YOU CHEATED ON HIM?! OR WORSE, BECAUSE YOU CHEATED ON HIM WITH MY BEST FRIEND'S DAD! NIT ONLY ONCE BUT TWICE. HOW COULD YOU DO THIS? TO JOHN, TO DYLAN, ME AND EVEN KAIT! DO YOU NOT KNOW THAT HER FATHER ABUSES HER? ARE YOU NOT AWARE OF WHAT YOU'RE CAUSING?!" I start shaking as I shout at her.

I'm seriously disgusted. First she cheats, then I find this out. It's like she's blind. She doesn't know what she's causing.

I open thr front door, exit the house then slam it shut. It was freezing outside and the clothes I wore weren't helping. All I had on were a pair of sweatpants and a really thin material shirt. But I had to get out of there before I completely lose my mind. Not like I already haven't. I start walking down the driveway wrapping my arms around my body for warmth looking down while tears roll down my cheeks. I suddenly bump into something. Who puts a wall in the middle of a fucking driveway? I look up and see that it's Bryan who I bumped into. The guy I left his party a few hours ago.

"Watch where you're-" I cut him off by saying "Sorry,". He recognizes me and looks at me confused with an eyebrow raised.

"You ok princess?" he asks.

"I'm fine, I'll go now." I reply with my trembling voice and proceed to walk away but he holds my wrist and pulls me back to face him. "Luna, right?"

"Yes,"

"Let me give you a lift, It's pretty cold and you don't have anything to warm you up."

"I'm fine."

"Too bad, I wasn't asking." I look at him then he grips me from my elbow and pulls be to his car. I had no choice but to go with it and sit down. I give him directions and shortly after, we arrive.

"Thank you." I said and get off his car. "See you around, shortie." He says rolling down his windows then speeds up and soon his car is out of sight.

I open the door and come in to see that everyone has went upstairs except for Emilio that was sitting on the couch stressed. Once he notices that I came, he runs towards me and hugs me. I immediately break down.

When he hugged me I don't know what happened, but I feel mixed emotions. I feel so down and petrified, but so protected by his warm embrace.

I start to cry in his chest whilst he kept his strong arms around me playing with my hair. The more I remembered, the more I sobbed. He then carried me bridal-style and walked over to the couch. He put me down and sits beside me. As doon as he does, I put my head in his chest and he wraps his arms around me.

"Please don't cry, I'm right here." He said helplessly while I continue to sob in his chest.

"What's happening Emilio? W-Why is everything going d-dow-downhill all of a su-sudden?" I say barely able to let out words from my shaky voice.

"I don't know either but something I know is that I'll always be here for you," He comforts me. "And that's a promise from me."

I find myself calming down receiving his heart touching and relaxing words coming out of his sweet voice.

"Is D-Dylan asleep?" I ask lifting my head up to look at him.

"No, but he's upstairs if you want to go see him. So is Kait and John, but your mother left." He answers. "I'll go check on them." I say wiping my tears and getting up. He nods in return and stands up with me helping me gain my balance then I go up the stairs.

I first check on Kait, she was fast asleep on my bed and telling from her face it looked like she's been crying. I then walk up to Dylan's room and find his door slightly open, I peek and see that he's awake so I decide to enter.

"Dylan?" I say entering and he looks up at me, sprints towards me and hugs me tight.

"I'm sorry Lu," He said as I hug him back. Hr kept saying it over and over again.

"This isn't your fault, Dylan. You just didn't want me to be upset.."

"I know Lu, but I should've told you so you won't freak out like this..I'm sorry."

I pull away from the hug and he gives me a kiss on my forehead.

"I'm really tired.. I need to get some sleep." I state. "Alright, if anything happens my door is open." He says.

I was planning on sleeping in my room beside Kait but seeing that she probably needs time I decide I'll go sleep downstairs on the couch. I change into warm pyjamas and get a blanket and a pillow then head downstairs.

As I get there I see that Emilio was in the kitchen drinking water. I'm assuming he's sleeping downstairs too since he has a pillow on one of the couches. He comes out of the kitchen shortly after with a warming smile, I smile back slightly.
