Life is but a dream

Life is but a dream,
Watching my life pass,
Looking through a small glass that seems to control me.
It seems that life is just a dream

See I'm not doing much, as the days pass
I dream and dream,
And still keep dreaming,
Thinking that it's all I can do,
I act like life is but a dream.

But when my skin sags, and my hair becomes gray
I don't want to be stuck inside this dream,
I would say,
'i wish I did more, and dreamed less'

But I can't turn back time and fix my mess,
Because dreams are just that,
Dreams, and reality is when you're stuck with the gravity that keeps you on your feet.

Life is not a dream.

Because a dream is a gravity-less world where your dreams come true,
Yet here we stand trying to beat reality.

Life is not a dream,
Though sometimes I wish it was,
I don't want to float the years away.

I want to make a reality, that i want to stay in.

Inspiration: this poem is mostly inspired by my own inability to stay on the ground as my mind wanders in a gravity-less dimension. And I was also listening to a song on Soundcloud. Life is but a dream by halberd. It's a really chill low-fi song and I used a small bit of the lyrics inside my poem if you notice.

The point of this poem was to say that you shouldn't waste your life thinking about dreams. I'm not saying stop dreaming, just let your dreams guide you to a better reality.
