Poetry,
T'is not just simple words on paper.
T'is not as simple to understand,
Writing stanza, by stanza,
yet making space for invisible thoughts between the lines,
Poetry, is a different type of writing.
Poetry is an emotion,
An expression through metaphors and personifications of things that cannot be explained so simply.
Just like an artist's pallette of paints, and brushes, each stroke and color can express different emotions and ideas.
What is poetry?
Is it just pretty words on paper that express emotions?
Is it a way of creating a work of art through literary devices?
Why is it so easy, yet so complicated?
Poetry,
Is an emotion.
Poetry,
Is you,
In a universe of words and thoughts bled on to paper.
Poetry is all the words you write, and cannot.
T'is the thoughts that cannot be put in to words.
For if they were,
They'd surely burn through the page.
