Now a senior living facility, the Knickerbocker has had a long history in Los Angeles. Originally an apartment building, it was soon converted to a fancy hotel. Famous film icons Rudolph Valentino and Marilyn Monroe are said to haunt the premises, but there are plenty of other creepy stories regarding the hotel that's made it a go-to for ghost aficionados.
Director DW Griffith died in the lobby, while actress Frances Farmer was arrested in it before being declared insane. The strangest thing about the hotel is how after Harry Houdini died on Halloween 1926, his wife Bess tried to contact him via seance every year for ten years on the roof of the Knickerbocker. Who knows if she ever made contact?
