I always thought I was scared of the sea
the ocean
the rivers
because I was afraid of what was in them
and to drown
knowing that would be my death
but then I saw your eyes
as blue as the waters
and in them I saw the safety I needed
the reassurance
the love
and then I realized
I wasn't afraid anymore
I would rather drown in your eyes
where I knew I would survive
I knew I would survive
