I woke up and could feel all the pain hit me at once, the dull ache from the cuts on my legs, the bruising on my stomach from where Machete punched me with his giant hands, the sharp pain from my arm breaking, finally the throb from the wound on my head. I shot up swinging, you didn't tie me up mother fucker, big mistake. I feel hands wrap around my wrists and move to kick the mystery man gripping me.
"Cordelia, it's me, stop, you're safe now" my eyes fly open and it's Adrian holding me, there's a cast on my left forearm.
"Sorry, I thought I was still there. What happened?" I ask looking over my body to see all the wounds cleaned and stitched. Adrian went through the details, reminding me how I killed Dragon and Machete. I'm safe now. I've slept through the night and now it's morning.
"I need to wash all this blood off my body and out of my hair" I say to Adrian, inspecting my black matted hair now tainted with my own blood. Adrian picks me up and carries me into the bathroom, sitting me on the counter, he turns on the shower and takes his boxers off before coming over to me and taking my shirt off. I stand up slowly and he removes my underwear.
"Hang on" I say grabbing a trash bag from under the counter and wrapping it around my cast. Adrian guides me into the shower and I stand under the hot water, letting it soak my bloodied hair and battered skin. Adrian grabs the shampoo and starts washing my hair, minding the cut on my scalp, after my hair is finally rinsed clean he grabs the soap and gently washes my body. For a big, strong, dangerous man he has the most gentle touch with me, it makes me love him more, after washing around the cuts on my legs he stands up and I wrap my arms around his shoulders and gently press my lips to his. He deepens the kiss and pushes my back against the cool tiles of the shower wall.
"I thought I was going to lose you" he says peppering kisses over my jaw.
"I wasn't sure I was going to make it, but I knew I wasn't going down without a fight. I love you" I say running my free hand over the muscles on his back. He turns off the shower, steps out and grabs a towel before wrapping it around me, I take the bag off my cast and walk into the bedroom. I dry myself off and wrap the towel around my hair before grabbing a pair of sweat pants and one of Adrian's t-shirts. I comb out my hair and as best I can tie it in a messy bun. I turn to look at Adrian who is now dressed in jeans, a t-shirt and his cut. I see him looking through his nightstand before slipping something into his pocket and walking over to me
"Cordelia, when I thought I was going to lose you, it made me realise I never want to let you go. I know you're my old lady, but I love you and I want you to be my wife" he says whilst bending down on one knee, then he pulls a velvet box out of his pocket and opens it to reveal a diamond engagement ring. I put my hand over my mouth as I gasp, I move my hand to his shoulder and say "Adrian I love you, you're the reason I fought, I would love to be your wife" I feel a huge smile spread across my face and he takes the ring out of the box and puts it on the ring finger of my right hand
"When your arm heals we can move it to the left" he says getting up to kiss me.
We head downstairs and walk into the kitchen which is littered with hungover men, a few of which I don't recognise. I head to the stove where Izzy is cooking breakfast and start trying to assist
"Girl sit down, I got this and after breakfast I will sort that hair out for you, like I was meant to yesterday morning" she says pointing at the bun on my head with a spatula. I head over to the counter and sit next to a man drinking coffee, he's tall, but not as tall as Adrian, his short blond hair is gelled back away from his face and he has haunting blue eyes. He's wearing a cut but it has a different town on the bottom, his arms are covered in tattoos and I follow the patterns with my eyes. I feel arms wrap around my waist and lean back into Adrian before he moves off to grab coffee
"Butcher, this is Cordelia, Cordelia, this is Butcher, prez of the Hundale chapter of the Broken Demons. He and his crew came over yesterday to help me take out the Sons" Adrian says pointing between me and the man sat next to me. I look up and his eyes meet mine
"Nice to meet you Butcher, shame it isn't under better circumstances" I say reaching out to shake his hand. He pushes my hand away and pulls me into a hug, I hide the pain his hug causes before he says
"Damn if you finally got Killer here to settle down you deserve more than a handshake girl and the way you handled yourself yesterday. I saw Machete, you did some fucking damage there. I wouldn't want to cross you" he says releasing me with a laugh. Slowly the Hundale Demons and our guys file into the kitchen and we all have breakfast
"What do you mean I missed the party" I ask Knuckles as he tells me about the celebration they had last night for ending the Sons. I look over to Adrian before saying "Well, if president Killer doesn't mind, maybe we could have another party tonight because he has something to tell you guys" I say trying to hide me smile. He looks up and me and smiles
"That's true, tonight we celebrate because, guys, Cordelia and I got engaged" he says never taking his eyes off me the room erupts with cheers and Knuckles stands and picks me up
"Congrats Sadist, welcome to the family." I laugh as he puts me back down on my feet. Izzy runs over inspecting the ring and saying "Girl, I will do your hair and make up and we will celebrate big style tonight" she says running her finger over the halo of diamonds around the cushion cut diamond of my ring. Butcher pats Adrian on the back
"Congrats man, you'll have little ones of your own running around here before long, nothing beats it" Butcher says making me nearly choke. Izzy laughs and winks at me before she resumes cleaning up.
