Makoto walked back to Haru's house both pissed off and still a little shaken up. He wasn't expecting Kisumi to do something like that. But the more he thought about it, the more he realized that Kisumi was always trying to keep him from Haru.

But now another subject was running through his mind. Was Kisumi right? Am I really in love with Haru?

He got home later than he expected so the kids were probably getting ready for bed. He walked into the house and saw that Haru was sat in the kitchen.

"Hey." Makoto said nonchalantly. He didn't want Haru to realize that he was hiding something from him.

Haru looked up suddenly. "Oh, hey... you scared me." He chuckled.

"Sorry 'bout that." He smiled and scratched the back of his neck.

Haru looked away bashfully. "I-I got something for you..."

Makoto was surprised to say the least. Haru was definitely more affectionate with him than he was a few years ago, but this is at a whole other level. "Really? You got me something?"

Haru nodded. He stood up and pulled a stuffed animal from behind his back. "This is a 'thank you' for letting me have the dolphin toy many years ago."

Makoto looked at the plushie that was now in his hands. It was soft and bigger than most stuffed animals. It was big enough for Makoto to hug. "Thank you. But you don't have to thank me for all those years ago." He started. "I mean, I like orcas too."

"I know, but you went for the dolphin originally. So now whenever you see the stuffed animal... you can always be reminded of me." Haru said. His voice got quieter and quieter the more he talked. But he was still loud enough for Makoto to hear.

Makoto felt his stomach fill with butterflies as he smiled. He wrapped his arms around the other male and held him close. He could hear Haru's breath hitch as he was pulled into a hug. Makoto felt Haru lean in to his chest. He could feel him breathing as he moved his head down to lay on top of Haru's. They stayed that way for a while, perfectly content with just holding each other.

"Thank you, Makoto." Haru whispered.

Yeah, Kisumi was right.
I do love Haru.
