As my eyes fluttered open the next morning I let out a long sigh, the sleep wasn't the most comfortable ever but I really shouldn't complain seeing as they had given be a bed whereas Flynn got the floor. As I gazed around the room I noticed I was the only one in it meaning the others must have already awaken.
It took me a minute to swing my long legs around and stand up quickly combing my fingers through my surely afro like hair. When I finished quietly I moved across the room towards the closed door but before I opened it I heard on the other side my name.
"--I don't understand." It was a girl's voice so it was definitely Scarlet's "You think just because the prison was attacked the same day those two arrived it means that they are the people in that old prophecy?"
"Did you not get a good look at her?" It was Beith's voice "She looks identical to Aurora when she was young, I am positive my dear she is the one that can stop them!"
"It's just..... the Hidden Kingdom is nearly impossible to pass, how on earth did she get across and to that prison?"
"She is of extraordinary power." That was Grimm's deep and well.... grim voice "She was training to be the next fairy god-mother before she.... before she turned. Thorn's were her signature and I believed she could always grow or vanquish even the most deadly of them. The Prophecy is approaching meaning the barrier is weakening and they are growing stronger."
"How can we stop them?" Scarlet begged "We need to stop them."
There were a few minutes of silence before Beith finally spoke "Avalon, she's our only hope."
I felt my two eyebrows scrunch together in confusion, I was beyond confused. What were they talking about? What prophecy? Why was I their only hope? I knew nothing about this world how on earth was it possible for me to be their only hope?
I managed to get a grip on the doorknob and opened it up to see the 7 Dwarf's and Scarlet seated around the table. I decided it was safe to act nonchalant and pretend that I didn't hear a word they had just said and offered them a smile.
"Good morning." I said quietly.
"Good morning, sleep well?" Clovis asked yawning loudly as he did.
"Yeah." I replied "Is Flynn awake yet?"
"No." Beith responded nodding over to the next room where Flynn was sleeping, well snoring away on the floor "He's quite the sound sleeper."
"Apparently." I mumbled moving over and taking the only empty seat which was beside Scarlet. I could already tell that she didn't seem to like me very much just because of the way she shifted awkwardly as I took a seat which you know made me feel awesome.
"I'm going to check on Bandit." She said quickly jumping up "Make sure he's ready to travel today." With that she hurried away from the table and towards the door, grabbing her red hood on the way out.
I raised an eyebrow at the door in which she left curiously "Bandit? Who's that?"
"Her horse." Grimm uttered "She named it Bandit."
I nodded my head as silence fell over us, I wasn't sure what to do or say just yet. They had taken Flynn and I in, let us stay the night but.... what now?
"We were just speaking with Scarlet." Beith spoke up "She is leaving soon en route to the Glass Kingdom and well.... we thought you would like to join her, there's a ball later on tonight after all."
"And would Scarlet want that?" I asked warily "Don't take this the wrong way or anything but she seems to snap whenever I talk and the fact that she ran away when I sat down."
