"did you follow me or something?"

"as i said, it must be fate"

my shift ended and i walked to the store on my way home to grab something to eat. the store was almost empty as i walked around in search of ramen.

"coffee girl" i hear and look over to the left to see the man i served earlier today.

i raise an eyebrow to be met with a smirk from him.

"must be fate us meeting again" he stopped beside me and pretended to look at the ramen.

"did you follow me or something?" i ask and pick up a couple packets.

"as i said, it must be fate" he looks down on me with a playful glimpse in his eyes.

i smile a little and glance at the ground, "i should be heading back, it's late"

"don't you realise how dangerous it is to walk home alone on this side of town?"

"i do it every night" i reply "nothing ever happens"

"oh but today is different, it's my duty to ensure you get back safe" he said mocking a heroic tone.

i laugh slightly, "okay whatever" i walk to the cashier and hand her the money. "what was your name again?" i ask

"jaewon, i find it hard to believe that you forgot that"

i didn't forget.
