Within hours the lie detector was ready to go and we had our questions prepared. All that was left to do was question our suspects. We all agreed that Lucy and Carter shouldn't be in the room because that would clearly allow them to know what's going on.

We'd seen about 6 people already. All of them looked quite confused and Maxon and I had to explain to them what it was for once they answered the questions. We then thanked them and sent them outside. As our next contestant entered Maxon and I looked and each other and chuckled internally. Stravos was our next suspect and we were both nearly 100% sure he was innocent. He had been working with the royal family for years before Maxons parents.

"Hello," Stravos says as he walks towards the lie detector. "What's all this?" Was that a hint of fear in his voice. No it couldn't be...could it?

"Nothing more than a formality," Maxon explained. "You have nothing to worry about. Please take a seat."

Once we sent up the test we began asking him questions.

"What's your name?" Maxons asks. We have to start off with something easy to establish a base line. After he answers we move on to another simple question: age. Finally, we get down to the dirty work.

"Where were you on November 14th at 11:00 AM?" Maxons asks.

"I was in the castle." He replies. The lie detector shows he is telling the truth.

"Where do your loyalties lye?" Maxons asks.

"With you of corse," Stravos answers. The line falters. He's lying! Maxon and I remain straight faced as we continue.

"What do you know about the disappearance of Lady Marlee and Officer Leger?"

"I assume they we either killed or taken by the rebels. Such a shame," he's lying again. That scum bag. We finish asking a couple more questions then thank him and let him leave. My mouth feels dirty saying thank you to this disgusting man who has been fooling us for so long. No doubt he is by far the person Maxons trusts the most. We alert the guards to take him to the cells for farther questioning and tell Lucy and Carter that we have found the culprit.

Not long after, all four of us venture down to the cells with our handy dandy lie detector. Stravos keeps pleading that he's not guilty but no one is buying it. It's pure science.

"Your majesty!" Stravos begs. "Would I ever do anything to harm you?"

"It seems so," Maxon responds.

Turns out Stravos is very dedicated to the cause because he kept claiming he didn't know where they where. The lie detector proved otherwise however so we kept pushing. After an hour Maxon got up in fumes.

"Look Stravos," he yelled. "We can either do this the nice way or the not so nice way, but either way, you're telling us where they are. So let's try this one more time shall we! WHERE ARE ASPEN AND MARLEE?!?!?!?"

All of the color drained from Stravos face.

"They are being held in an underground bunker on the west border of Angles. The Andress is 927 Backlight Lane," the lie detector proved he was telling the truth and we set off to find our friends.

Lucy and I stayed in the van while Maxon, Carter, and a handful of other guards went into the bunker. They'd been gone for about 45 minutes and Lucy was starting to get nervous.

"What if there is better security here?" She asks. "I'm sure they are expecting us after last time. Oh I hope he is alright. I hope all of them are." Lucy was just too good.

"Don't worry Lucy," I say soothingly. "I'm sure everything will be just fine and Aspen will be back in no time, safe and sound." I could tell she heard me but made no attempt to let my words reside in her brain. Then again, if I was in this situation, I don't think I could be calmed down either. I end up just hugging her and stroking her arms. About fifteen minutes later, the whole crew, plus Aspen and Marlee, renters the van.

Lucy cries and runs towards Aspen who's eyes are diverted from my face to hers. Why was he looking at me first? Probably because we'd known each other for so long. I hug both Marlee and Aspen, then Maxon and I leave them alone to their lovers.

"How did it go?" I ask.

"Swimmingly," he responds.

"I highly doubt that," I answer. "You were gone for an hour."

"My dear," he says. "Please don't worry about a thing."

I sigh and rest my head on his shoulder.

How did I get so lucky to meet someone so wonderful?

And how did he fall for me?
