Necromancers are stories, that's what Shuri Udaku grew up believing. That's what her brother said - Necromancers aren't real. But when Shuri updates some software and runs into some problems, she begins to learn how horribly wrong they were.

In the year 525 A.D, in the quiet of the countryside of England near King Arthur's castle, Catarina Ferency lived in peace. Most of the time.

Her village told stories of her lineage, of how her family were the blessed Necromancers, the protectors of their realm, gifted by God the ability to travel through time and raise the dead.

Their stories swiftly changed, however, when her sister Eleanna used her powers to raise the dead and attack the King, her kind were shunned. Eleanna was brutally executed, despite protests of how it was against Gods will. The order for the death of the Necromancers soon followed. Catarina got out due to the reluctant support of her village, who insisted she understood the gravity of her powers, and an Accord was created: The Shadow Peace.

It forbade the practice of any supernatural power, and had a special clause in place because of Eleanna's rebellion.

Necromancers, although everyone in the village believed it only applied to Catarina (the last Necromancer), were forbidden to have children, and their powers were to be suppressed - necromancy was to lay dormant for all of time. Any Necromancer caught using their powers or with child were to be executed, and so Catarina 'promised' she'd never use her powers again.

And then Shuri Udaku, a foreign princess with beauty unlike any Catarina has seen before stumbled upon the Necromancer cabin a mile from Catarina's village.
