Rose is starting her junior year of high school and hasn't even seen her sister yet. Rose is an antisocial freshman in high school who doesn't care about making friends or dating guys, but she has never dated a guy or made any friends, the only friend she has is her older sister Bella, but her first time back and Bella is nowhere to be found. Rose befriends a girl the same age as her by the name of Renesme, and when she invites her over to her house she comes face to face with the Bella and her husband. The Cullen's believe that Rose is not all human, and they are right. Rose is the last one of her kind, she was born with the ability to communicate with the dead and raise the dead and will stop aging by the time she is eighteen, she is a necromancer. The Cullen's immediately question her as Jacob tries to kill her. Rose thought all the voices she was hearing and the people she was seeing in her room was all in her head, but now that she knows that she's not crazy than she doesn't know what to think. She meets a vampire by the name of Andy who is a friend of the Cullen's who has a similar ability as she does, he can communicate with the dead and see them, but he cannot raise them or control them like Rose can, he teaches her how to use her power, but things get out of hand. Since all that Andy drinks is human blood it's kind of hard not to sink his teeth into Rose's neck, this may not change her, but it could kill her.
