people will try to convince you
that love isn't worth the pain
that comes in the pretty packaging of forever
but those people haven't experienced actual love
because it really is like a drug
numbing
widening
brightening
and it's much too easy to get hooked on
the most addictive of delicacies
then there's the withdrawal
that tears your world apart
and leaves you for dead
and you wonder why you do this to yourself
the worst part is
