Fleck's POV

Damn would I ever understand that man? One minute so sweet and the next so cold and distant. With a sigh I got up and called the groomers to notify them that I would be sending someone to pick the dogs up realizing that was the only reason my assailant was able to enter my apartment without issue.

Heading up for a hot shower I thought about the best way to trap my assailant especially with the element of surprise. There was really only one way and I knew neither my father nor Gray would ever suggest it. Shutting off the shower, I quickly dried off and got dressed in a casual, comfy outfit and grabbed the apartment keys as I strolled past the current bodyguard and into the elevator before he could react. Giving him a little wave with my fingers and a smirk as he unfroze and tried to catch the doors before they closed.

I did feel kind of bad knowing Gray would chew him out but I knew that if I had bothered to call down first, if he even took my call he would dismiss my idea outright. Nope this was a discussion that had to happen face to face so he could be made to see reason. As the elevator stopped and the doors opened I made my way to the door of the security apartment, knocking confidently despite not feeling so confident I breezed past a shocked Gray.

"Can you send someone to pick up Seiko & Stella at the groomers, please?" I called over my shoulder as I headed to the meeting room trying to distract him before he could get a word out about my sudden appearance, I slowed looking back to make sure he listened.

Frowning at me, he grunted and turned to the second in command, "Send someone with the SUV to pick up the dogs" then turned back to me with a raised eyebrow as if questioning if there was anything else I would like.

"Thanks Mr. Peters" I said as formally as he was treating me in front of others and turned back entering the meeting room and smiling a greeting at my father who was sitting at the table with his typical cup of black coffee.

"Now I am assuming that you and my father are planning a trap but neither of you want to suggest the best possible idea to use me as the bait?"

"Absolut-" Gray started

Ignoring him I turned my father "You know we have the upper hand because we know who it is?"

"Fleck-"

"No daddy, remove all emotion from the equation and you will see I am right."

"Mr. Keller," Gray tried to interrupt and reason with my father, "it is too dangerous to consider putting Miss Keller in harms way."

"Mr. Peters, please! It is the best possible option!"

"No Absolutely not!"

"Grayd-" I started to try to appeal to him on a more personal level

"Fleck! Mr. Peters! I understand both sides of your arguments but Fleck is right. We have the upper hand and we need to use it to our advantage with time being of the essence."

Looking between my father and I and realizing he was outnumbered he gave a curt nod and taking a seat beside my father, motioning for me to also take a seat we planned out our course of action. After 2 hours of ensuring we were going over all the details with a fine tooth comb, we set our goal for 2 days away and after giving my father a quick kiss on the cheek I made my good-byes and headed back up to my apartment.

Seiko and Stella greeted me excitedly with my return to the apartment as I led the way into the kitchen to get a drink. Leaning casually against the counter as I watched the pair of them goof off in an attempt to get my attention I heard my apartment door swing open and Gray stormed in.

"Are you crazy?! You can't do this! Its too dangerous! What if we only think we have the upper hand?"

"Gray, it will be fine." I responded with more confidence than I honestly felt
