Making characters overly-happy or overly-sad is super obnoxious! Try toning it down y'know? Here, I'll give you an crappy example.

Crappy one:

The girl walked around the strangers brother excitedly, " Hi!! I'm y/n!! I'm friends with f/n and I saw he had a brother so why not immediately make friends! "
She hugs him.

That I've seen in quite a few book just because they have now other way to get the romance going.

Good example:

She cleared her throat making her way to the boy. " Uh, hey. Are you f/n's brother? " He nods, a curious arch in his brow. " Cool. Well I'm y/n, and what I'm basically trying to ask is if you.. Maybe want to go the pub tomorrow with me and f/n? "

Okay, so that was crap but I'm trying to point out that romance needs to build up sometimes!

( When romance builds up, that is sometimes called chemistry! )
