Adam
I woke up to the sound of crying. I moved a little and something on top of me rolled off. I could still hear sobbing. I sat up. I could see a small outline of a figure kneeling. The sobbing was coming from them. I sat up and a jolt of pain hit my arm, but I ignored it. I was faintly aware that it was raining. I stood up and looked around the wreckage of our city. The school I had to grow up in had been reduced to a pile of rubble. The surrounding buildings looked as if a massive truck had run over it. I started to stumble over to the figure. As I got closer I realised They were holding someone in their arms. I began to run.
“LILY! What’s wrong?” She turned her tear streaked face towards me. She was holding someone who was not moving. Finally saw who it was.

The person was lying on the ground half buried with drops of blood dripping onto their face from Lily’s head. Their eyes were wide open.

“I-Isabel?”
