"I GOT CALLED UP FOR THE FINAL Argentine squad," Paulo softly told Nita. The two of them were back at Paulo's apartment, currently setting up the nursery for the twins. It has been a little over 3 weeks since the incident with her mother has happened, and a few things have occurred since then.
Nita was currently staying back in Venice with her mother and grandmother. Even her father was visiting very often to check up on Regina, who just had surgery for her cancer and was on chemotherapy for it. At first, Nita and everyone thought her father was doing well, as she was up and always taking walks around the block with Nita, until last week. Last week was when it started to go downhill. Nita's mother did not want take those walks anymore, and her skin was getting worse.
Regina was always tired and it did look like it. Her face would be pale all the time, and lifeless. So lifeless. Nita tried to spend every second with her, because she didn't know what would happen next. Regina made a friend in chemotherapy sessions. Everyone around her-including Regina-thought she was doing well, until she died 4 days ago, which caused Regina to be upset, but pushed her harder to get better.
Recently, Nita had a pregnancy scare. She had thought she was experiencing a miscarriage-though she learned later that she could not have a miscarriage in the third trimester-and had gotten Selina to drive her to the ER. Though it was not a miscarriage, she had to stop putting stress on herself if she wanted to have a healthy baby boy and girl.
She tried hard- very hard, to stop putting stress on herself, but with everything going on, it was just hard not to feel angry or upset. She didn't know if her mother's health would never be in a good state anytime soon, she didn't know what she was going to do after giving birth-would she forgive Paulo? She didn't know if the feelings she felt for Mattia were actually there, and Paulo cheated on her.
Speaking of Paulo cheating on Nita, he trying really hard to make it up for Nita- though he never, not once, apologized for the actual cheating. Not even when some fan pages got a hold of new pictures that showed Paulo leaving a hotel room with the same girl shown before. It frustrated Nita a lot, but she tried to not let it get to her, because there were hundreds of men out there that could treat her much better.
Nita's father eventually found out that Nita and Paulo had broken up, ever since Nita moved back to Venice. All 3 women had to try to stop him from driving 4 hours and pulling the crazy overprotective father stunt on Paulo. Nita appreciated it, but he did miss 1/5 of her life and suddenly appeared again. She enjoyed how he apologized for his actions and for suddenly leaving, but Nita did not want him to act as if he was there for her forever and would continue, because she knew well that he wouldn't. He was well known in Italy and Albania and had lots of money, that was enough to say.
Going back to Paulo and Nita. Paulo was trying very hard to earn back Nita's trust-knowing it would be more than difficult, but was not going to give up on them being a couple yet. Paulo also did not apologize for hitting Mattia straight in the jaw at the hospital- which indeed cause a big scene, and led Nita's father to finding out. Though Selina enjoyed the exclusive drama she was getting from two players on her favourite Football Club.
